Activities: The Investment and Trade Promotion Center of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee (ITPC) organizes seminars and programs for visiting missions and individuals seeking business opportunities in Vietnam. It also has the principal responsibility for organizing investment and trade promotion activities in international markets.
Description: ITPC is a valued partner with AmCham in trade and investment promotional activities, including seminars and missions. It is not a member of AmCham, but is listed here for the convenience of members and visitors to the AmCham web site. The ITPC was officially established in 1982 under the name of the Export Development Center with the functions and structure similar to that established in 1964 by the former Saigon government. With its main functions of export promotion and attraction of foreign direct investment into HCMC, the ITPC has provided local and foreign businesses with updated trade and investment information, match-making and consulting services, and acted as an efficient bridge between local enterprises and foreign counterparts. ITPC supportS local enterprises by providing information on prices and markets, export-import situation, government regulations and other information concerning the trading, manufacturing activities of enterprises. ITPC also organizes tours abroad for finding business partners, discovering business opportunities and expanding markets, exhibitions and seminars. Regarding the external relationship, the ITPC receives and works with foreign business delegations coming to HCMC to discover business and investment opportunities in Vietnam. Playing a role as a bridge, the ITPC provides a comfortable working space and organizes exhibitions and demonstrations of their products in the city. At present, the ITPC strives to support local enterprises by opening representative offices of the ITPC abroad, co-ordinating with the ESCAP to set up a showroom for displaying exported goods produced by local enterprises in HCMC and the neighboring provinces.
