Event Description

Since Alibaba acquired the Lazada Group, Alibaba has implemented countless changes in their commercial management. These changes have had a tremendous impact on the vendors selling on the Lazada platform. These changes include:

  • Implementation of “Seller Rating”
  • Transition to automation in commercial processes
  • Launch of Lazmall

While these changes have been made to support a more self-sustained platform, the overall impact has been vendors systematically losing sales revenues month-over-month on the Lazada platform. Our speaker Khang, Intrepid CEO, will be discussing these changes, the consequences they have had on e-retailers, and the potential impacts on other marketplace platforms.

Mr. Khang Chim – Intrepid CEO

Khang is an American entrepreneur, dynamic sales professional, and Iraqi war veteran.

While attending university, he postponed school to enlist in the United States Marine Corps and served for 8 years.  After returning to University to complete his degree, he packed his bags, bought a one-way ticket to Vietnam, and found himself as the Sales Director of the Lazada Vietnam marketplace.

In June 2017 Khang co-founded Intrepid Vietnam with Christopher Beselin, founding CEO of Lazada Vietnam. The Intrepid Group completed $2 m USD seed-funding in April 2018 and currently works with over 500 brands, distributors, manufacturers, and retailers to grow their online sales revenues.  The Intrepid Group has expanded to Philippines, Indonesia, and has plans to launch in Thailand and Malaysia in 2019.
