Vietnam Food & Beverage Forum 2019 (VFBF 2019) is hosted by AMCHAM and co-hosted by VCCI, CIEM, VASEP, VDA, FIA, IFC (World Bank – TBC) and its partners to address opportunities and challenges of the food & beverage industry in Vietnam from various perspectives. The main VFBF objectives:
- Official platform to address food & beverage topics for better business and better food safety management in Vietnam
- Engage with related government agencies, researchers, scientist and producers
- Share international practices to Vietnam in applying international food safety standards
The 2019 forum will focus on the topic “Actions for sustainability and better food safety management”
We welcome you to join our forum about the challenges and opportunities of food and beverage in Vietnam toward sustainable business and food safety management. During VFBF 2019, we will explore the complexity, opportunities and the latest trends in food policy management, technology, production from international and local practice and initiatives for sustainability. Participants and speakers represent various disciplines, fields and businesses.

MAIN SESSION 1: Food and Beverage Industry and actions for sustainable environment
Vietnam is estimated to account for 6 percent of the ocean plastics and is ranked 4th in terms of plastic marine debris globally. Vietnam generated over 2 million tonnes of plastic waste in 2017. Based on current trajectories, the total volume of municipal solid waste could increase by more than 40 percent by 2030.
It is time to take actions to meet UN’s agenda and the call from Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on reducing plastic waste on August 7, 2019.
As one of key stakeholders who can make changes and turn ambitions into results, Food and Beverage business community in Vietnam takes a bold commitment to be a front liner… to reach sustainable development goals in Vietnam and in the world.
The panel discusses three main topics:
– Plastic Waste Landscape, commitments from various stakeholders to tackle plastic waste pollution
– Mindset/business solutions toward CE to tackle plastic waste in VN
– Strategy & action plan on promoting sustainable packaging in F&B industry

MAIN SESSION 2: Dialogue to promote manufacturing and trading in food and beverage industry
Quality and standards are gatekeepers for all goods especially for food and beverage that enable consumers understand important information about the goods they buy and also improving transparency of food managements. Improving quality standards also improving exporting capability of local companies by standardizing the Vietnamese quality regulations which meet international systems. The panel will focus on discussing on the following key topics:
Topic 1: Labeling in the integration of international standards
Topic 2: Health certificate, Free Sale Certificate and Good Manufacturing Practice Certificate
Topic 3: Products contains additives out of the list ( Sản phẩm chứa phụ gia ngoài danh mục)
