Recently, the Vietnamese Government has decided to replace Decree 23 with Decree 09/2018/ND-CP which has brought significant changes, especially eliminating a number of restrictions previously contained in Decree 23. In consideration of many benefits for foreign investors who want to invest and do business in Vietnam from 2018, our leading lawyers/partners would like to give a speech on the updates from Decree 09/2018 and offer a complete guide for foreign investors/businesses to invest in Vietnam, especially in Distribution and Retail industry. Mr. Ngoc Hong Bui, LNT & Partners, Partner

Mr. Bui is one of the Partners of LNT & Partners. He is a partner in charge of the firm’s Corporate practice group and acts on behalf of a wide range of domestic and foreign investors. He has aided foreign investors in their commercial objectives in all aspects of investment in Vietnam, and is familiar with establishing businesses and contractual arrangements, asset and company acquisitions, private equity matters and business restructurings. He also advises investors on operational issues such as employment, corporate governance, contractual matters and dispute settlement. Mr. Bui’s valuable experience extends into numerous practice areas, including projects in the following sectors: manufacturing; mining; food and beverages; trading and retail; franchising; tourism; IT; advertising; logistics; education and pharmaceuticals.

Mr. Bui is a frequent contributor to local and regional business publications. He is also invited as a regular speaker at conferences and seminars on foreign investment, M&A and restructuring, contracts, employment, and dispute settlement in Vietnam. Prior to joining LNT & Partners, Mr. Bui was a Senior Associate at a “Magic Circle” firm, where he provided extensive legal counsel to a broad range of corporate clients.
