The Vietnamese government’s “Socio-Economic Development Strategy (SEDS) 2011-2020” identifies the need to “quickly develop human resources, especially high quality human resources”. It is indeed evident that many Vietnamese corporations struggle with inadequate HR processes, leading to unwanted consequences such as low skilled staff, high staff turnover, unacceptable levels of risk of non-compliance, non-alignment of staff goals with corporate objectives, and other HR-related challenges.
Some organisations seek to address this by implementing integrated processes for strategic HR functions such as recruitment, training, performance management, and various other initiatives to help corporations develop and retain their staff. Prior to implementing these strategic HR processes, organisations typically focus on HR administration, including activities such as employee record keeping, payroll processing, and so on.
The purpose of this presentation is to discuss these various HR functions, and suggest how they can be prioritised and implemented as part of an integrated approach to enhance profitability, reduce risk, and gain a long term strategic advantage. This presentation will be of interest to anyone with P&L responsibility, and especially to HR professionals.
