ManpowerGroup surveyed more than 200 job seekers about their current employment, job search preferences and motivators and found that there is a relation between the EMPLOYER’S BRANDING and COMPETITION FOR TODAY’S CANDIDATES.

The survey message was clear: If you build a strong employer brand, top talents will line up at the door.

Brand: a powerful motivator for candidates

The data revealed the importance of brand and company reputation as a motivating factor in career-decision making and identified candidate experience preferences that can be shaped by employer value propositions.


Emerging best practices for building Employer Brand

ManpowerGroup’s Research points out several emerging best practices for building brand. These strategies all place the candidate at the very center of the process. Mr. Simon Matthews, with a quarter of a century experience in human resources management, solutions provision as well as sales management he has had a long and successful businesses and fruitful experience across countries and organizations.

Simon is currently Country Manager for ManpowerGroup Thailand ,Vietnam and Middle East. He formerly held the role of sales and contract management in such company like SGS and successfully developed call off contracts with Caltex Caltex Refinery, Total, Brunei-Shell, Sarawak Shell, Saudi Aramco, ADNOC and Qatar Gas and Unocal, etc.

What makes Simon different to others sales management is his intensive knowledge and experience in human resource development, solution as well as understandings of labour markets and labour policy making process in many countries. These are practical information sharing which is very valuable to people-centered strategy for business’s sustainable growth.

Beyond the art of human and business solutions, he has been one of the main proponents of the British Chamber of Commerce where he is the Chairman. He also has remarkable vision and contribution to Junior Achievement ThaiLand, in which he is the Director, with the view to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy.


Son Nguyen ManpowerMr. Son Nguyen, Manager of Business Development, Outsourcing & Staffing Services – ManpowerGroup Vietnam


Son Nguyen has five years of extensive experience in Human Resources Consulting Service and 2 years as internal HR management specialist. His in-depth expertise focuses on Talent Management, Learning and Organisation Development for many multinational corporations in Vietnam market. Furthermore, Son has acquired strong skills and solid knowledge in various industries including Human Resources Consulting, Finance and Banking, Hospitality and Service. With his hands-on experience in business counseling, Son combines his strengths in communications, project management, problem analysis and solving, leadership and business development to provide clients with comprehensive approaches in workforce management, particularly in outsourcing & staffing services.

Ton That Anh VuMr. Ton That Anh Vu, SVP and Head of Human Resources – HSBC Bank (Vietnam) Ltd.

Ton That Anh Vu is currently the Head of Human Resources of HSBC Vietnam. Under his current role, Vu is responsible for developing the HR strategies and driving the implementation of the People Agenda in Vietnam.

Vu began his long and successful career with HSBC in Vietnam in 1999 as a Compliance Officer. Vu was then appointed to become Public Affairs and Marketing Manager cum Area Compliance Officer in HSBC Vietnam where he helped to set up these departments in the Bank, enhance the Bank’s image in the local community, protect the Bank’s reputation as well as prevent financial loss. In 2003, Vu was appointed to become Human Resources Manager and under his stewardship, HSBC was able to grow the number of people from 85 to some 1400 employees today.

Vu was appointed to become Head of HSBC’s foreign bank branch in Hanoi responsible for the business operations and retail banking in the North during 2009 and 2010. He also had the oversight of Compliance and Government Relations thereafter.

Vu has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Commercial Law and a Master of Business Administration from The Maastricht School of Management, The Netherlands. He is a graduate of Leadership Business Programme from Richard Ivey Business School, Hong Kong Campus.

DuyenMs. Dao Le Duyen, Head of Human Resources – British American Tobacco (BAT)

Duyen is in Human Resources profession with more than 20 years experience in this field. She started her Human Resources profession with Hospitality Industry before moving into FMCG industry in 2009. Her last position with Hospitality Industry was Human Resources Director for Park Hyatt Saigon hotel. Currently, Duyen is working with British American Tobacco (BAT) in Viet Nam as a Head of Human Resources after being rotated into various roles within B.A.T as a Human Resources Business Partner, Head of HR for BAT Cambodia, AsPac Talent & OE Manager.

Duyen holds a post-graduate Diploma in Tourism and Travel Management at the Nottingham University.


Tu AnhMs. Nguyen Vu Tu Anh, HR Manager – Talent Acquisition at Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage (SPVB).

Tu Anh is responsible for leading nation-wide Talent Acquisition agenda from organization design, headcount planning, talent attraction to selection, on-boarding and retention. Her mission is to drive SPVB ambition to become a Top 3 Employers of choice in FMCG in Vietnam by maximizing Employer Value Proposition (EVP) platform.

Joining the company one month after a strategic alliance formed in April 2013 between PepsiCo Inc. and Suntory Holdings Limited, Tu Anh has the chance to lead the EVP long term project of SPVB from the concept building to implementation and sustainability across different platforms including freshgraduates, external professionals and internal staff.

Passionate and excited for the Employer branding journey of SPVB, Tu Anh always strives to catch the new trends of Talent Acquisitions and come up with new initiatives to develop. She was recently nominated to join a world class employer branding course conducted by Employer Branding Academy & Universum in October 2015.

Tu Anh possesses over fifteen year working experience in different industries with seven years in the field of human resources at managerial level.

Tu Anh holds two Bachelor degrees in Communication and Information from University of the New Sorbonne, Paris III, France and in French Literature from University of Social Sciences and Humanities, HCMC.
