National government ministers and vice-ministers of key FDI-related agencies (MPI, MoF, MoIT, VN Customs, VN Tax, MoLISA, etc.) join government leaders and department officials from HCM City and other provinces in the Southern Key Economic Region (SKER) to discuss practical actions to improve business conditions and attract and grow FDI in the region.
Already, HCM City is #35 in the business conditions quality-cost rankings of The World’s Most Competitive Cities in 2013, by Site Selection and IBM Global Services. But that ranking is based largely on cost factors rather than business conditions quality factors. Click the image to left and scroll to page 3 to see the complete rankings list.
Combining on-the-ground policy-implementing officials, central government policy-making officials, together with political leaders from the local and central governments will offer participants a valuable opportunity to get questions answered on-the-spot and expedite administrative procedures in licensing, employment, tax and customs, and land and property. This will be a step forward in AmCham’s mission to help make Vietnam in general and HCM City and the Southern Key Economic Region (SKER) in particular the best destination for business and investment in Southeast Asia.
The Vietnam Business Forum (VBF) Dialogue in HCM City, with business leaders together with local and national government leaders, will identify areas for improvement in the business conditions, using specific cases and questions to illustrate and resolve both the specific case/question, in particular, and set a precedent for similar governance and administrative issues, in general.
