Daryl Tay
Managing Director
UPS Vietnam

Daryl Tay is the Managing Director for UPS Vietnam and is based in Ho Chi Minh City. He is responsible for the strategic management of UPS’s express delivery, freight and logistics operations in Vietnam.

Daryl most recently served as the Director of Enterprise Marketing Strategy for UPS Asia Pacific (APAC) Region where he spearheaded UPS’s segment strategies and established a team of experts across various industry verticals who are attuned to the customers’ needs and are well-versed at developing value-added solutions for customers. Under his leadership, UPS grew its product portfolio in APAC including the expansion of the Worldwide Express® service to more than 23,000 postal codes in Asia in 2015, and the launch of the China-to-Europe rail solution that helps balance cost and speed.

Daryl first joined UPS in 2000 as part of UPS’s Strategic Accounts Sales team and has since helmed various roles from APAC Strategy and Development to multiple functions within Marketing. As a business leader, his 16 years of sales and marketing experience gives him a breadth of perspective that adds depth to his leadership.

In 2010, Daryl relocated to Shanghai to assume the role of Marketing Director at UPS China. During the period of rapid expansion in China, he played an instrumental role in developing UPS’s e-commerce strategy through the strategic alliance between UPS and AliExpress which connected Chinese businesses to global online buyers and sellers. The alliance strengthened Chinese businesses’ logistics process with access to UPS’s full suite of delivery services as well as supply chain, warehouse and freight solutions. With his tacit knowledge of Asia’s business landscape, he also established an 80-strong marketing teams across China, setting a strong foundation for future growth.

Daryl graduated from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore with a Bachelor of Business Degree, and is married with young twin daughters.

Luke Norris
Manager
UPS Vietnam

Luke Norris is the head of Marketing for UPS Vietnam. He is responsible for all core marketing disciplines of segment management, revenue management, business planning and analytics, market intelligence and brand communications in Vietnam.

Luke first joined UPS in 2013 at UPS Asia Pacific head office in Singapore as a Marketing Manager. Luke served as the APAC Region Small Package Product Marketing Manager where he led implementation of product and service enhancements and developed training for the Small Package business unit for all Asia Pacific markets.

Prior to joining UPS, Luke served in the US federal government for 12 years.  Four years as a diplomat in the US Foreign Ministry at the US Embassy in Hanoi and the main headquarters in Washington, DC, and eight years as a naval officer at various duty stations across the globe.

Luke holds a Master of Business Administration from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore as well as a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

Paul Khoa
Vice President
Vietnam Logistics Business Association

Paul Khoa is the founder and owner of T&M Forwarding, one of the most reputable freight forwarding companies in Vietnam. He has lead the company for over 25 years with a pioneering spirit and innovative mindset, setting new benchmarks in Logistics market. Paul is also the owner of DTK Logistics Solutions, a Logistics and Supply chain consultant with 15 years of track record.

Graduated from Technical University of Sofia, Bulgaria, his specialization is cargo handling, transport machinery and systems. Paul also obtained the master degree in E-Management. Based on his own extensive experience, he enthusiastically encourages young forwarding companies with conceiving ideas and innovative applications.

Paul Khoa is the first Asian and founding member of WCA, and the first certified member of WCA E-Commerce in the Asia Pacific. He is also a board member, Vice President of Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA), Head of Transport Division and Chair of ICT committee. Paul is also an advisor to Working Group Sea of FIATA and an FLA mentor. As an accomplished TOT trainer and forwarding consultant, Paul brings remarkable wide knowledge and ingenuity to his work. He is frequently invited to be a speaker at international conferences on cross-border transport, GMS logistics, contemporary and future trends regularly conducted by VLA and Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Being eager to learn and believing in “ you are what you know”, Paul is a strong advocate of “ knowledge is power when it is shared”.

Head of the Employment and Labor Practice
Baker McKenzie

Hang’s practice focuses on employment and labor, M&A, Corporate and Compliance matters. Her diverse working experience, broad knowledge in various areas of law, and business management qualifications allow her to provide clients with practical and commercially savvy legal advice, creating effective, strategic and innovative solutions to navigate around the ever-changing legal landscape of Vietnam. As head of the Employment and Labor practice, Hang is in charge of developing and providing strategy for the practice, training and coaching team members and coordinating the global and regional employment practices when related to Vietnam. She is also a member of the Steering Committees for the Firm’s Asia Pacific Employment Practice Group and the Global Immigration and Mobility Group.

Hang received her legal education in both Vietnam and the U.S., obtaining her bachelor’s degree in International Law from the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, completing an LL.M. at Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law, and earning an Executive MBA from University of Hawaii’s Shidler College of Business. Hang is one of the few lawyers dually admitted to practice law in New York State and Vietnam. During her 11 – plus years with Baker McKenzie, she has worked in the Vietnam, Spain and UK offices of the Firm.

Hang has been an active AmCham member since 2006. In 2013, she was nominated to become the Chair of the HR/Labor Committee and has held this position since then. In 2018 she was elected and is serving as an AmCham Board of Governor.

DiCentral Vietnam

John Nguyen is the founder, board director and chief strategy officer of DiCentral Corporation, a 16-year old Houston-based supply-chain solutions and services company. He is responsible for the company’s business strategy and corporate development. Prior to founding DiCentral, John Nguyen worked as an equity research analyst covering wireless telecom at Lazard, an investment bank in New York City. With over 27 years of industry and business experience, he has held technical and marketing positions at AT&T, Siemens, Alcatel and Nortel Networks. He co-founded and managed four technology start-ups: InTouch PCS, Paragon Solutions, Neopoint and OpenWorld Communications. He successfully raised over $17 million in combined seed funding for these ventures.

John earned an M.S. in computer science from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a B.S. from Aurora University in Chicago. He is an avid golf enthusiast, and, weather allowing, spends his weekends honing his swing on the fairways.
