AmCham Vietnam
Objectives
- Create a vibrant committee of 20~25 active members that participate regularly (monthly) in committee meetings/events and at least an additional 100 (“passive”) members that participate several times throughout the year. This committee would serve to address issues identified by the manufacturing community.
- Create a network of local vendors that are able and qualified to support manufacturing companies.
- Obtain information to make the customs process more efficient, transparent, and convenient for manufacturing companies.
Goals
- Grow the AmCham membership base of manufacturing companies
- Strengthen the local supply chain
- Encourage and support the movement of Viet Nam customs towards more modern and transparent processes
Mission
To increase the value of AmCham membership for its manufacturing sector members, including the supporting supply chain, by providing networking opportunities and collaborative solutions which could not be achieved as effectively by individual member companies.

![]() Co-Chair Andrew Lien, VP & GD of Asia Manufacturing, Wanek Furniture Andrew is the Vice President of Asia operations for Wanek Furniture Company and subsidiaries. Wanek Furniture started operations in 2008 and has since grown to be the largest furniture manufacturer in Vietnam. Wanek is currently exporting products sold in 20,000 storefronts, and 155 countries around the world. Prior to moving to Vietnam, Andrew spent 17 years working for Ashley Furniture in the United States, giving him a total of 22 years of experience in managing manufacturing global supply chains. |

Currently lead Sourcing and Product Safety and Quality Assurance and Innovation capabilities. 17 years of career experience in Global supply chain leading Target Owned Brands Sourcing Strategy in China, South East Asia & Latin America. Career experience Current Role: Senior Managing Director Vietnam Cambodia & Thailand leading 2 Functions: Sourcing & Quality Assurance Offices: HCMC, Hanoi, Bangkok Cambodia Product Categories: Apparel and Accessories, Home & Hardgoods. Responsibility: 200 Factories, US$ 1.7 Billion imports from Vietnam Owned Brands 2015 – 2020: Senior Managing Director, Product Safety & Quality Assurance Greater China and SEA Led the Transformation and Modernization of the Quality & Engineering Function inclusive of Regulatory and Compliance, Product Safety and Performance. Product Categories: Home & Hardgoods, Apparel & Accessories, Soft-Home, Beauty & Essentials Responsibility: 1,500 Factories 2011 – 2015: Senior Director South East Asia – Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia & Philippines Led the Sourcing Strategy and Region growth, especially for Vietnam Apparel. Key work was focused on raw materials & investments to enable yarn-forward Rules of Origin. |

![]() Board Liaison Uyen Ho, Director of Public Affairs, Intel Vietnam and Malaysia Uyen Ho leads a regional Public Affairs team for Intel Vietnam and Intel Malaysia. She is the first local senior manager sitting on the Site Steering Committee for Intel Vietnam. Her priorities are to ensure licenses to operate for Intel Malaysia and Vietnam sites with public policy advocacy from local to central government levels, support Intel business growth, and drive Intel reputation with communities to promote Intel RISE2030 goals for Corporate Social Responsibility. Uyen has been with Intel since 2006 as one of the pioneers involved in the setup of the $1B Assembly and Test factory of Intel investment in Vietnam. Intel is the largest high-tech US investor and the first mover of this industry into Vietnam. Prior to joining Intel, Uyen worked for Nike Inc Vietnam in its early establishment for over 10 years as the Director of External Relations. Uyen has a strong passion to support female leadership and female engineering students to promote a diverse and inclusive skill-based talent pool for Intel and Vietnam. Under her leadership, the Public Affairs team has worked with academic partners to launch programs that fill these goals; Higher Engineering Education Alliance (HEEAP), Intel Vietnam Study Abroad program (IVSA), AmCham Women Engineering Scholarship (AWES), and Dariu Foundation Scholarship (awarded over a thousand young students to study in Vietnam, USA and Australia). Uyen has been a key contributor to various prestigious recognitions, including the Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE) by the US Secretary of State and the Intel Achievement Award for her efforts to transform the diverse workforce for Intel Vietnam factory. Uyen holds a general MBA from the Columbia Southern University (CSU) and a BA in English from the HCMC Teaching University. |
![]() Liviu Leșe, General Manager, Universal Alloy Corporation Vietnam Liviu Leșe, a Romanian national, is the General Manager of the Universal Alloy Corporation, Vietnam (UACV), a subsidiary of Montana Tech Components AG. UACV had the groundbreaking ceremony for its Da Nang facility in March 2019 and has been in operation since January 2020. UACV provides the aviation and aerospace industry with aluminum alloy components. Under Liviu’s leadership, UACV has already achieved several important milestones. The project has been highly valued by Da Nang authorities for its completion commitments and being ahead of the scheduled targets. Da Nang authorities have highlighted the success of UACV’s project in order to attract more international high-technology manufacturing investment into Da Nang. With a background in engineering, Liviu started his career in Electrolux as a mechanical engineer and later began working for the UAC company starting in 2013. Over seven years, he gradually gained experience, skills, and knowledge in leadership, program management, operation management, and quality management in the aviation and aerospace industry. |
