Seeking volunteer interviewers for AmCham Scholarship 2012 Candidates, Saturday, November 24, 2012

Dear AmCham members,

We invite volunteer interviewers for the Interview round of the AmCham Scholarship 2012 as the application and selection process is well underway. The detailed information is as follows:

We will conduct panel interviews with 90 candidates on

Time: Saturday, November 24, 2012, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
Location: Victory Hotel.

At the interviews, a panel of three interviewers will interview one candidate. We will need around 75 interviewers and the schedule is as follows.

The 90 candidates will be divided into four groups of about 23 students each and will be scheduled for the interview at four time batches: 8:00am, 9:00am, 10:00am, and 11:00am.

Criteria for an interviewer

General criteria:
• Fluent in English
• Experience in interviewing in English

For experienced interviewers:
• HR Managers/Leader/Professionals: at least 3-years’ experience of interviewing
• Functional Managers/Leader: at least 3-years’ experience of interviewing
• Recruitment/Staffing Manager: at least 2-years’ experience of interviewing

For ASA members:
• At least 1-2 years’ working experience

Structure of an interview panel

3 members
• 1 HR Manager or Recruitment/Staffing Manager
• 1 Manager or Recruitment Consultant or HR Professional
• 1 ASA members or HR Professional

Background about the AmCham Scholarship Program 2012

Since 2001, AmCham has cooperated with Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) and more recently Banking University, Foreign Trade University in Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, Hoa Sen University and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education to grant scholarships to top students including: University of Technology, University of Science, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Economics and Law, University of Information Technology, International University, Banking University, Foreign Trade University, Law University, and Hoa Sen University. Recently, this year, 2012, the AmCham Scholarship has opened to the students of the Ho Chi Minh City University of University of Technical Education with a view to supporting and encouraging students with technical majors in their learning.

To date, AmCham has awarded 270 scholarships and 146 honorable mention awards. During the past 11 years, many AmCham Scholars have continued their studies, and have earned 40 Masters and 56 PhD degrees. Many of them are now working at AmCham companies such as GE, PepsiCo, BAT, HSBC, Unilever, KPMG, and others.
