This October, AmCham Vietnam HCMC & Da Nang invites you to participate in our Blood Donation Drive, a key initiative in our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program since 2011. Over the years, this event has become a defining moment for AmCham members and the wider business community to come together and make a meaningful impact.
As we commemorate the 20th anniversary of World Blood Donor Day, celebrated earlier this year with the theme “20 years of celebrating giving: thank you, blood donors!”, AmCham continues to extend this spirit of gratitude. Your participation in the October drive helps honor the life-saving contributions of blood donors worldwide and supports the ongoing need for blood donations throughout the year.
In Vietnam, October is a time for preparing for the upcoming festive season, including Tet. As businesses plan for the end of the year, it’s a perfect moment to give back to the community and help meet the continuous demand for blood donations. Dr. Bach Quoc Khanh, Chairman of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, emphasizes the importance of holding blood donation drives regularly at offices, companies, and schools to ensure a stable national blood supply.
In the U.S., October also marks National Make a Difference Day, encouraging acts of service and community involvement. By participating in this blood drive, you not only contribute to this global movement but also directly impact lives here in Vietnam.
Since 2011, nearly 8,000 AmCham donors in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces have contributed 10,250 units of blood . This commitment has played a crucial role in Vietnam’s growing blood supply, which increased from 500,000 units in 2008 to over 1.4 million units in 2022, with 99% of the supply coming from voluntary donors.
So join us on Thursday, October 24 and again on Thursday, October 31 to donate blood, and bring your colleagues! AmCham is honored to collaborate with the Blood Transfusion and Hematology Hospital and Victoria Healthcare Clinic to host this year’s donation drives at our generous venue sponsors, MSD Office and Victoria Healthcare.
By donating, you are actively supporting AmCham’s mission to enhance healthcare and wellness in Vietnam, while contributing to the government’s ongoing efforts to promote safe, high-quality, and sustainable voluntary blood donations. Together, we can continue to build a healthier, more resilient community.
