Computing Tips: Beware “spoofing”

Beware of emails using “spoofing” techniques to make them appear as if they were e-mailed from “support” or “admin” or other administrative addresses from

The viruses contain messages about “undelivered messages,” “missed payments,” “policy violations” or other tricks to get you to open an attachment.

These are NOT coming from, but are from other “virus-infected” computers.

Do not open the attachment. If you do, it will infect your computer.

Use Anti-Virus software from Symantec, McAfee, or other vendors if you have opened one of these e-mail attachments.

These viruses were developed and launched outside of the system—the problem is Internet-wide.
