We are still planning to have the AmCham Governors Ball, the fundraiser for our scholarship program, take place on Saturday, December 12, as planned.

We request that anyone who is not feeling well stay home. We will conduct temperature checks and have hand sanitizer available on entry, and throughout the venue. We also will have special commemorative masks available for use when participants are not eating or drinking.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will make our decision whether to stay with the December 12th date on Tuesday. If we are unable to hold the event on December 12th, we will reschedule the Ball to Saturday, January 9, with a late Santa’s Breakfast on January 10. We will send out any postponement notice via email, Facebook and LinkedIn, and on our website.

Thanks to all for your patience and flexibility. If some of you now feel uncomfortable attending, please advise [email protected] soonest. We still have a waiting list of potential participants and you may be able to cancel without penalty.

This year’s OLD HOLLYWOOD CHRISTMAS – themed ball provides a glamorous and elegant setting to celebrate the holiday season.

The Governors’ Ball brings together over 400 members of the AmCham Vietnam business community and Vietnamese and international business representative friends. The Ball is a unique opportunity for you to access and promote your company to a large and influential audience, in a festive and fun setting, while contributing to a worthy charitable cause.

AmCham Scholarships Programs

In the spirit of Christmas, proceeds from the Governors’ Ball will go to support our flagship CSR initiative: the AmCham Scholarship Program and AmCham Women in Engineering Scholarship Program

The Scholarships Program recognizes top Vietnamese students at Vietnam National University, Banking University HCM City, Foreign Trade University in Ho Chi Minh City, Hoa Sen University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, University of Economics and Law, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, Eastern International University, University of Economics HCMC , Vietnamese – German University, University of Finance and Marketing, HCM University of Technology (HUTECH), Ton Duc Thang University and FPT University, and helps prepare them to become local leaders in business, education, and society. After 18 years from 2001 to 2019, AmCham Scholarship Program has awarded to 685 winners and 250 runners-up from 19 universities.

The AmCham Women in Engineering Scholarship Program’s purposes are to encourage and support FEMALE students to study in science and engineering fields and to pursue technical careers. From 2011 – 2019, the program has awarded to 315 future female engineers in Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho and Da Nang city. This year, we will award 70 female engineers in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Dong Nai, and Binh Duong.
