Celebrate Independence Day at AmCham’s 4th of July Community Picnic!

Join the American community in Ho Chi Minh City as we celebrate the 4th of July at AmCham’s Independence Day Celebration & Community Picnic! This year marks the 249th anniversary of American independence and AmCham’s 30th year hosting this beloved event.

One of AmCham’s signature events, this celebration promises a day full of fun for the whole family:

Opening Ceremony with the U.S. Marine Corps Color Guard and the U.S. national anthem
Free-flow of beverages, including assorted refreshments, beer, and wine
Live Music Performances featuring rock, pop, blues, and folk genres
All-You-Can-Eat Buffet with classic American and international favorites, including BBQ ribs, hot dogs, hamburgers, and more
Fantastic Prizes including round-trip airfare to the U.S., luxury resort stays, restaurant vouchers, and many more exciting rewards!
Children’s Activities featuring face painting, sandbag toss, a bouncy castle, and more!

The top Raffle Prizes will be drawn at around 4:00 PM. Remember, you must be present to win! If your name is called and there’s no response after three attempts, we will conduct a re-draw.

Even if you don’t win the grand prizes, don’t despair! Keep your ticket stubs, as we’ll be announcing winners for other exciting prizes on our Raffle Prizes Board near the Reception Desk, and also posting them on our AmCham website the morning of Sunday, June 29.

As we celebrate this significant day, we invite you to delve into the profound words of the Declaration of Independence by reading its complete transcription. This enduring piece of American history is preserved by the U.S. National Archives.

Did you know that the American Declaration of Independence served as an inspiration for Vietnam’s own Declaration of Independence? On National Foundation Day, September 2, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh echoed the timeless words of the Declaration of Independence, emphasizing the principles of equality, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. His poignant opening words resonated with the spirit of freedom and self-determination:

“‘All men are created equal. They are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.’ This immortal statement was made in the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America in 1776. In a broader sense, this means: All the nations on the earth are equal from birth, all the nations have the right to live, to be happy and free.”
