Flavio Batista
Chief Commercial Officer, Georgia Ports Authority
Flavio Batista serves as the Chief Commercial Officer for the Georgia Ports Authority, an 1,800-person strong state authority which owns and operates strategic port terminals on the East Coast, serving as a global gateway for international trade and investment.
In his new role at the GPA, Flavio directs trade, business development, and sales efforts toward beneficial cargo owners. His passion for finding end-to-end solutions for customers, combined with more than two decades of maritime industry experience, drives his work promoting Georgia Ports.
Flavio joins the GPA from Wallenius Wilhelmsen, an ocean carrier with a legacy of developing sustainable shipping and logistics solutions for manufacturers of cars, trucks, heavy equipment, and specialized cargo.
There, he served as senior vice president and head of Americas sales, leading ocean and logistics commercial development and customer relations in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Latin America. He previously served at WWL as executive vice president and head of commercial activities for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, and as vice president in São Paulo, Brazil, responsible for South America.
Flavio earned a Bachelor of International Business Administration at Bandeirante University in São Paulo, and a Master of Business Administration at The International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Switzerland.
