Rafael Gallego
Engineering Manager, UL Solutions Mr. Gallego is a Senior Project Manager with over 9 years of experience in wind development and technical advisory. In the ASEAN region, Mr. Gallego has supported clients to originate greenfield sites in Vietnam, Philippines and Indonesia, de-risking projects through the early stage development, implementing bankable met mast campaigns, and performing energy yield assessments. Mr. Gallego has also involved with the development phase of various wind projects in the UK and Africa. Mr. Gallego is now leading UL’s Energy Advisory division in ASEAN, performing independent engineering reports and greenfield development supports. He is also engaged as a Project Manager for Owner’s Engineer projects in Vietnam. Before joining UL, Mr. Gallego has held various technical positions such as Wind Analyst at RES (Scotland), and Lead Engineer at MEM (Thailand). |
Darryl Dong
Principal Country Officer, IFC Darryl Dong joined the IFC regional team in 2019 as country officer to manage Mekong operations, lead program strategy, and develop investment and advisory business, based in Hanoi. His current focus is to devise strategic partnerships, originate and lead new market-creating projects, and develop platforms/programs across IFC products and services in holistic client solutions. Prior to Hanoi, Darryl’s role was IFC Client Leader, Asia, based in Singapore, in a similar business development role, generating strategic financing solutions and partners for IFC served markets. Darryl has been on the ground in Asia for the past 25 years, based in Tokyo for 6 years with GE Capital, where he led GE’s Asia distress investment business, 8 years in Hong Kong, where he built and ran the global special situation investment business for AIG Investments, and then arrived at IFC to lead various business units across Asia. Earlier in his career, he worked in US at various financial institutions and corporate restructuring investment groups. He holds a Civil Engineering degree and MBA degrees in both Construction/Project Management and Finance, from University of British Columbia, Vancouver, and Golden Gate University, San Francisco, respectively. |
Arvin Lee
Partner, Wee Swee Teow LLP Arvin Lee is a Partner of Wee Swee Teow LLP, a 111-year-old Singapore law firm. He is an Arbitrator of the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board, the Beijing Arbitration Commission, the Chinese Arbitration Association (International), an Adjudicator of the Financial Institutions Dispute Resolution Centre (Singapore), and a Member of the Appeals Board of the Ministry of National Development, Singapore. He focuses on energy-related disputes (conventional and renewables). Arising from the downstream oil and gas work, he has built up a commodities trading and trade finance disputes practice, which recently includes acting as co-lead counsel on letter of credit issues governed by Singapore law for a Pertamina subsidiary against the paying bank in relation to an LC dispute in excess of US$23m before the Singapore International Commercial Court (and the appeal before the international division of the Singapore Court of Appeal filed by the opponents, heard by Lord Mance IJ, the Right Honourable Sir Bernard Rix IJ, and Judith Prakash JCA). On the renewable energy front, he has a focus on wind and solar, and his experience includes being lead counsel for a Southeast Asian wind power developer in its project finance claims arising from Vietnam FIT rates against its private equity investor in an SIAC arbitration, with total amount in dispute in excess of US$20 million, for a Southeast Asian wind power developer in relation to attempts by private equity investor to exercise conversion rights to take over control of the developer at project level pursuant to an accelerated repayment provision; and for a Fortune 100 Enterprise’s renewables arm in a solar dispute against a regional contractor in ICC arbitration. Arvin is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and the International Dispute Resolution Academy (HK). He holds a certificate in Hedging and Management of Energy Price Risk (2021) from the SMU Academy. He holds law degrees from Harvard (LL.M.) and the LSE (LL.B., First Class Hons.). He is admitted to argue cases in the Singapore Courts and the DIFC (Dubai International Financial Centre) Courts. |
Korawin Sriniratsai
Due Diligence & Wind Advisory Lead, ASEAN, UL Solutions Korawin has over 9 years of experience in the wind industry throughout the Asia Pacific region. He has provided support to clients for wind project development with a focus on risk assessment, contracts, and technical feasibility. He has been involved with more than 20GW of wind projects, from development to construction and operation, and has completed hundreds of technical due diligence projects to support M&A transactions. Korawin has primarily worked on wind projects in Vietnam, Thailand, North Asia, and Australasia. Prior to joining UL, he spent 2 years based in Vietnam as the head of the wind resources team, where he led the team to develop wind projects and support development strategy for over 1GW. Korawin also spent 4 years as a wind project manager at Mott MacDonald, overseeing APAC and global wind projects. In his current role at UL, Korawin is responsible for leading the technical project management on behalf of clients, specializing in on- and offshore wind and solar PV. He holds an MSc in Advanced Mechanical-Aerospace Engineering from Strathclyde University in the UK. |
Tharabodee Serng-Adichaiwit
Senior Vice President & General Manager, Bangkok Bank Vietnam Branch Tharabodee has been working for BBL for 28 years with international operation and spent most of his time services BBL in overseas. For the past 18 years, he has been in charge of BBL VN’s operation. Ngo Ngoc Nguyen
General Director, Khang Duc JSC. Mr. Nguyen is one of the founders of Khang Duc Investment & Construction JSC. Mr. Nguyen and the co-founders have gradually led the company to develop through many domestic and foreign projects. Up to now, after 10 years of establishment, the company has become a quite competitive brand in the construction of wind farm, port, jetty, inland terminal and factory infrastructure projects. Mr. Nguyen personally has 18 years of experience in the construction industry working with Japanese and European partners. Especially in the last 5 years, he has paid great attention and participated in many onshore and nearshore wind-farm projects in the Central and Southern Vietnam. One of the typical projects is the Korea – Tra Vinh wind power project, as a contractor for design, construction and installation of wind turbines (CBOP), the company has completed packages on schedule and fully meet the strict technical requirements. Mr. Nguyen and the co-founders have contributed part of their efforts to exploiting the potential of wind energy in Vietnam so that the community can access to the green energy in near future. Hiep Huynh
Head of Business Development, ACEN Vietnam Hiep Huynh currently serves as Head of Business Development at ACEN (Vietnam), a member of the Ayala Group. Hiep is responsible to scout and develop new investment opportunities in the renewable sector as well as managing the operational ACEN’s renewable portfolio in Vietnam. He currently serves as Deputy CEO of the 800MW solar portfolio, a joint venture between ACEN and Super Energy, and also serves as COO of a 60MW wind farm in the Mekong Delta. Prior to his role at AC Energy, Hiep was the legal representative supporting SN Power to acquired 100% economic interests of the Dam Nai Wind. He also served as Deputy Portfolio Manager at Dragon Capital. Hiep graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a B.S.c in Public Relations and Government. |
Van Nguyen
Head of Engineering and Construction, UPC Renewables Vietnam Van Nguyen is currently working as Head of Engineering and Construction at UPC Renewables Vietnam. Van has been with UPC and the wind industry since June 2018. She has worked on projects through various stages from development to construction. Among her notable projects are Lac Hoa and Hoa Dong projects, both of which are 30MW projects that utilize Vestas wind turbines V150 with the tallest hub height of 162m. Van was deeply involved in tendering, procurement, contract management, and project execution for these two projects. Overall, Van has gained 14 years of progressive experience in Construction Project Management, Contractual Strategy Management, Negotiation, Conflict Resolution, Logistics, Traffic Management, and Transportation of Heavy & Oversized Equipment, including the 5 years with the Renewable industry. Van holds a master’s degree in International Project Management from Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland and other internationally recognized qualifications such as Prince2 Project Management, Ciarb Mediation and so on. Van participated in the Women in Wind Leadership Program as a participant in the 2021-2022 Chapter and a mentor in the 2022-2023 Chapter, which aims to enhance gender diversity in the wind industry and support the world in achieving its net-zero goals. Her ultimate goal in her career is to promote clean energy and be part of the team that inspires the Vietnamese people to transition away from coal and thermal energy. |
