Dr. Jane Shadwell-Li
Family Medical Practice Vietnam Dr. Jane is a graduate of her native New York’s Stony Brook Medical School, and completed her residency in internal medicine at Long Island’s North Shore University Hospital, after which she worked for two years at an outpatient clinic in Washington D.C. Arriving in Vietnam in the year 2000, she began with us in 2002 while also serving the U.S. Consulate’s health units. She now practices full time with FMP. One of the medical center’s longest-serving general practitioners, Dr. Jane deals with a broad variety of treatments, conditions and diseases—taking particular interest in the fields of dermatology and infectious diseases. Enjoying the challenge of being the first “detective on the scene” even after 20 years in medicine, Dr. Jane is frequently called upon to present health talks on a wide range of issues such as health screening, breast cancer, occupational health and skin cancer. |
Dr. Astrid Matarrita Psychologist, Saigon Psychology & Co Dr. Astrid is a Clinical Psychologist and Couples Counseling with +10 years of experience exclusively in Private Practice. Astrid is the vice-chair of Amcham’s Women in Leadership Committee. Her practice as a Psychotherapist has always been influenced by the concept of seeking growth through rethinking and challenging society’s paradigms and doctrines. Astrid is an advocate for both women empowerment and personal agency. Dr. Wade Brackenbury
CEO, American Chiropractic Clinic of Chiropractic America (ACC) Dr. Wade specialize in chiropractic and acupuncture. He has practiced in the US, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Thailand. Dr. Ryu Trento
CEO & Director, YUKINO Foods Japan Dr. Ryu Trento is CEO of TFO Group, a 3rd generation Japan family office private investment fund and portfolio enterprise established in 1946 and focused on agricultural production of natural & healthy foods, retail and F&B, wellness and aesthetics, e-sports, technology, education, and real estate. He is also CEO & Director of YUKINO Foods Japan, a pioneer in organic living and wellness, operating in 40 countries worldwide. He was previously Executive Director of Investments at TAEL Partners, a top 3 private equity fund headquartered in Singapore. Earlier, he held General Management and Country Manager positions at Novartis AG in Europe, Japan, China over 10 years. Before his medical stint as a Specialty clinician in oncology, he was an M&A and private equity specialist at Credit Suisse Group in Switzerland and New York. A Japanese & U.S. national, he has advanced degrees from M.I.T., Harvard College, Harvard Business School, and Harvard Medical School. He serves as a Board Director advising Harvard University HAA and leading private family business enterprises in Southeast Asia and Japan. |
Mary Tarnowka
Executive Director, AmCham Vietnam Mary Tarnowka joined AmCham Vietnam as Executive Director in August 2019. She continues to carry out AmCham’s long-term mission to strengthen the U.S.-Vietnam trade and investment partnership and serve as the “voice of American business” in Vietnam, established when it was founded informally just after the trade embargo was lifted in 1994. Under her leadership, AmCham Vietnam has been revitalized. It is one of the largest, diverse, and inclusive foreign business associations in Vietnam. Before joining the State Department, Mary worked as a CPA and Tax Manager at KPMG’s San Francisco Office. Mary also serves as a Director on the Board of VinaCapital GS Energy. |
