Nearly 4,000 import-export enterprises that account for 80% of customs declaration forms will be required to switch to a new system on Apr 1.
Many said that they were familiar with the current e-customs system and not interested in the new one.
VN Customs said the new system would be officially launched on April 1, so there would be implementation problems if few signed up for the project.
VN Customs has sent lists of enterprises to provincial customs offices so as to compel them to join the Vietnam Automated Cargo Clearance and Port Consolidated System and Vietnam Customs Information System (VNACCS/VCIS) project.
Enterprises will have to sign pledges of using the system by February 20. Few are using the system three months after the system test-use which aims to help customs officers and enterprises to get familiar with the new system.
However, many enterprises said that they were familiar with the current e-customs system and not interested in the new one.
