1,000+ participants join Green Bike 2015

World Wildlife Fund Vietnam “It requires an accumulation of joint efforts from various sources to conserve Vietnam’s nature”, said Dr. Van Ngoc Thinh, Country Director of WWF-Vietnam, “Green Bike is only a short event, but hopefully the long-term effect will come from its 1000 participants who will continue to echo further the significance of protecting Vietnam’s flagship species and their habitats. Saola – a large mammal species discovered in the 20th century in Vietnam, for example, not only has tremendous values to the world and Vietnam’s biodiversity, but also symbolizes our country’s exquisite nature.”

Closing remarks as big Thank You from Ms. Sherry Bogger, AmCham Chair and General Manager of Intel Products Vietnam:
Well, we did it. We actually did it.
More than 1,000 of us joined in our World Environmental Day Green Bike 2015 this morning.
Nine kilometers … x 1,000 bikers … that’s 9,000 kilometers.
Wasn’t it just GREAT … ??!!
CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU ALL, TO ALL OF US …
Thanks to the organizers: Intel Products Vietnam, AmCham Vietnam, Environmental Partner: WWF, the sponsors: US Consulate, Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam, Di-Cental Vietnam , Long Hau Corporation, CitiFarm, United International Pharma, Victoria Healthcare, 3M Vietnam, PVDrilling, Walmart Global Sourcing, Vietnam and especially to the participants, the bike riders…..from almost 60 companies, organizations and Universities!!!
We had a lot of fun, but let’s also remember how serious our group activity is.
We are celebrating the United Nations “World Environment Day,” with millions, maybe even billions of people all over the world.
Our bike ride was really, really fun.
But we also have focused on raising awareness of protecting the environment in Vietnam and conserving five flagship animals that are special to Vietnam, and are at risk of extinction …
Tiger <http://www.worldwildlife.org/species/tiger> ,
Elephant <https://www.worldwildlife.org/species/elephant> ,
Sea turtle <https://www.worldwildlife.org/species/sea-turtle> ,
Sarus crane <http://vietnam.panda.org/en/what_we_do/species_and_biodiversity_conservation/sarus_crane__grus_antigone_/>
and  Saola <http://www.worldwildlife.org/species/saola>
So let’s all remember what we have done for the rest of the day, the rest of the week, month, and year.
Spread the news on your facebook and twitter pages.
Let your friends know, let the world know what we have done.
“Although individual decisions may seem small in the face of global threats and trends, when billions of people join forces in common purpose, we can make a tremendous difference.”
Once again, thanks to everybody for joining in our Green Bike 2015 as part of the World Environmental Day celebrations.
