He will discuss how to avoid injury, then move on to Vaccine-Preventable Illnesses – Hepatitis A and B, Rabies, Typhoid, Dengue, Japanese Encephalitis and TB. He’ll not only cover the diseases themselves but provide helpful background information on prevention, benefits of vaccination and more. Dr. Mark will also discuss the programs in place in Vietnam for TB and other diseases.

About the Speakers

Dr. Mark Siefring is an American, Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician. Dr. Mark obtained a master’s degree in Molecular Virology researching influenza virus. He obtained his doctorate in medicine from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1995. After graduation, Dr. Mark served in the capacity of Emergency Department Physician in various communities within the USA. He has expertise in Travel Health and Medicine, and provides General Practice consultations to adults and children. He is also qualified in aesthetics and has a special interest in dermatology. Dr. Mark has lived in Vietnam for 10 years.

Dr. Tristan Evely was trained in London and qualified as a MD in 1985. He was a General Practitioner in the UK for 12 years before becoming a trainer of GPs, paramedics and medical students. In 2000, he moved to Qatar in the Middle East where he was responsible for setting up Primary, Pre Hospital Emergency and Occupational care for two industrial cities. Dr Tristan joined International SOS in 2009 and is now working as Medical Director for Vietnam. In this role, Dr Tristan is responsible for the clinics in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Vung Tau, as well as for the medical services and assistance services in Vietnam.
