It’s all about Jazz at Park Hyatt Saigon

Bonnie Jensen - Hyatt Park Hyatt Saigon welcomes the New Lunar Year with Bonnie J. Jensen, an acoustic and jazz-oriented musician whose music creates a stylish and sophisticated ambience.

Bonnie is an experienced singer, piano player and song-writer with an extensive repertoire and a warm, captivating vocal that segues from blues, pop and funk to smooth bossa nova and heartfelt ballads.

Born in New Zealand but based in Sydney, Australia, Bonnie has performed in many countries and released four internationally acclaimed albums since her debut CD in 2001, which rose immediately to No. 3 in the Australian Indie charts. Bonnie’s latest album is titled “S H I M M E R”, in which she showcases her soulful song-writing, and teamed up with exceptional talents that include Graham Jesse, Matt McMahon, Phil Stack, James Muller and Nicolas McBride to produce a colourful palette of sounds.

While many artists talk about listening to their parents’ records when they were young, Bonnie’s introduction to jazz was more abstract. Previously classically trained and with choral and orchestral experience, her initial discovery within the jazz realm was the music of the Brazilian master Antonio Carlos Jobim. The natural warmth and emotion of his songs, and the sophisticated harmonies underlying Jobim’s elegant melodies captured her and continue to inspire her.

Performing in the Park Lounge every night (except Tuesday) from 1 February between 8:00pm and 11:45pm, Bonnie promises to highlight her array of musical talent to deliver a unique experience to the discerning audience in the heart of Saigon.
