Finance Director, Mead Johnson Nutrition (Vietnam) Co. Ltd
Kimberley has over 20 years’ experience as a finance professional and 11 years’ experience working in ASEAN countries. She has worked in Australia, Singapore and Thailand prior to taking up her current role as Finance Director of MJN Vietnam in 2009. Her areas of responsibility cover finance, Supply Chain, Information Technology, Procurement and Compliance. She has experience in both the nutrition and pharmaceutical sectors, while starting her career with a big 5 Accounting firm covering both audit and consulting disciplines.
Mead Johnson Nutrition is a USA based, global leader in infant and children’s nutrition. They supply over 70 products in more than 60 countries to meet a broad range of needs – from routine feeding and nutrition to specialty formulations addressing serious allergies and potentially devastating metabolic disorders. MJN’s products have been sold in Vietnam for over 15 years and in 2008 we set up a full legal entity. This has provided Kimberley a wealth of experience dealing with Vietnamese authorities from DOIT, DOH to various areas of the MOF. These interactions fuel her vision to bring greater understanding between Vietnamese Authorities and Foreign Corporations on common ways of working and business operations.
Prior to her current position Kimberley worked for Bristol-Myers Squibb, with roles in Australia, Asia Pacific Financial Shared Services, the BMS Asia Pacific regional office and BMS Thailand & Vietnam. Prior to BMS, Kimberley held positions in both the consulting and audit divisions of KPMG. Kimberley is an Australian Chartered Accountant. She earned her Bachelors degree in Accounting from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance & Investment from the Financial Services Institute of Australia. Earlier this year she successfully completed her studies to become a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Vision for Amcham
Kimberley is enthusiastic and can provide significant contributions to AmCham as a Governor. Her business background gives her direct insight into the challenges faced by both Government Authorities in setting sound policy for the sustained growth of Vietnam, and of business in having to implement these policies in a commercial environment. She is a strong proponent of proactive and pre-emptive communications and open dialogues between Government and business, and believes AmCham is ideally placed to provide this facilitation service. This role is particularly important in order that Vietnam and the businesses that operate therein can optimize the potential benefits that should arise from implementation of the TPP and free market economy status among the signatory countries to the TPP. This will stimulate economic and social development in Vietnam and will offer many new opportunities for AmCham companies.
The key to Kimberley’s success is the passion she brings to her work, her ability to provide sound business partnering advice and learn from her own extensive experiences and those she interacts with. She has the capability to assess business situations, anticipate potential outcomes and plan for the best result. These skills will add value to the Amcham Board of Governors in delivering on our mission “to help make Vietnam the best business environment in Southeast Asia.”
