Which industry provided the highest salary increase rate in 2012?
What was the turnover rate 2012? Which industry had the highest turnover rate?

Different from last year when salary increases were lower than inflation, salary increases in 2012 are higher than the 9.5% forecast inflation, according to Mercer salary survey report 2012 involving 371 MNCs and big local companies, with data from 1,381 positions, and more than 121,000 employees in Vietnam.

In addition, Ms. Hoa Nguyen will also share the latest data from the survey, such as common allowances and bonuses by industry and level, benefit practices, as well as other information such as employee turnover rates, the most difficult jobs to attract and retain, the compensation mix for each level of staff in 2012. These kinds of data will be very beneficial for organizations in designing a competitive compensation and benefit scheme next year for proper talent attraction and retention.

About the speaker

Hoa Nguyen TalentNetHoa Nguyen is the Director of Mercer surveys and HR consulting business unit at Talentnet Corporation. Hoa has consulted and worked on a wide range of projects, spanning across various industries (Financial Services, High Tech, Oil and Mining, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Manufacturing, Trading, etc) in the areas of job evaluation, salary and benefits design, performance management and employee engagement. In addition, she has solid experience in finance and IT process improvement and accounting auditing. Currently, she serves as Project Manager for a number of compensation and benefits related engagements. She has a good understanding of the Vietnamese labour market and strong relationships with HR leader and key contacts within this field.

  • Hoa is a well known HR Senior Consultant , written HR articles on Vietnamese newspapers or magazines, and spoken at Asia Pacific CBF regional meeting, PACE Institution event, Amcham event, Eurocham event, Vietnam pre and post survey seminars, and trained clients on position evaluation methodology. She is considered one of the few experts on Mercer survey and HR consulting methodology in Vietnam.
  • Summary of career history – Hoa has 20 years in HR Consulting, Payroll, Remuneration Survey, and Accounting and Finance
  • Qualification – Hoa holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Economics University of HCM city, Vietnam, and a Diploma in Finance from Seneca College of Ontario, Canada. She also completed the final level of the Certified General Accountant (CGA) professional program. Since working in HR field, she took additional professional training courses provided by both local and international HR training providers and regularly joined local or regional seminars related to current HR challenges and HR trends in the Vietnam as well as in the region.
