Vietnam Airlines will receive engine maintenance, repair, overhaul (MRO) and management support from SR Technics and Pratt & Whitney.
SR Technics will provide MRO services for the Hanoi-based carrier at its engine service center in Zurich. The three-year contract covers 23 CFM56-5B engines and is an extension of an agreement signed in 2006.
SR Technics also carries out maintenance and overhaul for the Pratt & Whitney PW4168 engines that power Vietnam’s A330 fleet. The airline operates a total of 49 aircraft, including Airbus A320 and A330 family aircraft, Boeing 777s, ATR 72s and Fokker 70s.
Pratt & Whitney will provide engine monitoring services for Vietnam’s 58 PW4000 and IAE V2500 engines under a five-year engine management contract. The service provides analysis of engine operational data to monitor and forecast engine health.
