Overseas Vote Foundation Calls for Americans Abroad to Stand Up and Be Counted

Overseas Citizens Count BadgeOverseas Vote Foundation has launched a first-of-its-kind research project to establish a reliable count of Americans living outside the U.S. The "Overseas Citizens Count Project" provides a formalized methodology for counting Americans living abroad while guaranteeing their anonymity, as with the U.S. Census itself.

Essential to the project is a website ( and a Facebook application ( where, until July 15, 2011, citizens can self-report their data.

"Heading into another General Election Year it becomes painfully obvious that if we don’t know our own community, how many and where they are, we cannot properly harness the power of the overseas vote," stated Susan Dzieduszycka-Suinat, Overseas Vote Foundation President and CEO.
