2013 AmCham Community Day in the News

AmCham Community Day HTV9 #1Nearly 1000 volunteers including employees of 20 member companies of AmCham Vietnam, Intel Products Vietnam, students from Nguyen Thi Dinh secondary school and officers of Long Dien District People’s Committee joined  the event AmCham Community Day 2013 with the theme of “Act Clean. Save Green”. The volunteers along with local people took part in parading to raising public awareness in coastal environment protection and planting trees for the 2 coastal districts.

At a seminar on the Trans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership Agreement (TPP) organized by AmCham Vietnam and the Leading Business Club in HCMC on Wednesday, Mark Gillin, chairman of AmCham, said TPP is triggering order and investment transfers to TPP members from other countries. CBRE Vietnam shared its view on the industrial real estate market against challenging market conditions in 2012 and provided a 2013 forecast based on major recent case studies on who / where/ why. Despite difficulties and declines in FDI, a steady but reduced inflow is underway. FDI business association representatives continue to highlight for regional and national governments that a major challenge in Vietnam is improving quantity and quality of FDI, and that FDI in Vietnam is hindered by the high price of industrial land … weak infrastructure, poor training of workers, and lack of supporting industries.
