YKVN Wins Asian Counsel “Deal of the Year” Award for the IPO of the Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange in January 2008, in which it acted as legal counsel for Vietcombank. This deal was named one of the top 30 deals closed in Asia in 2008. This was the only deal from Vietnam and YKVN is the only Vietnamese law firm nominated for such a deal award.

IFLR Names YKVN “National Law Firm of the Year” for Vietnam for 2009. This is the third time YKVN has received this distinction.

ADB projects 4.5% growth for Vietnam The ADB annual Asian Development Outlook said growth in Asia’s developing economies would fall to 3.4 percent this year, with Southeast Asia as a whole almost stagnant with a 0.7 percent rise. However, “when it comes to Vietnam, actually we should not use the word ‘downturn’ or ‘recession.’ It’s just a slowdown,” ADB’s country economist for Vietnam said, projecting the growth to rebound to 6.5 percent in 2010.
