APCAC Annual Meeting in Ho Chi Minh City, Fri, Mar 23, 2007

Consulting Services for Long Thanh International Airport Master Planning
Change is coming fast in Ho Chi Minh City and the surrounding “Southern Key Economic Zone,” as the Southern Airports Authority has requested “expressions of interest.” Click this link to learn about the Long Thanh International Airport in Dong Nai Province, 50 km northeast of Ho Chi Minh City, and 70 km west of the off-shore petroleum base city of Vung Tau. When completed, Long Thanh International airport will handle 80 to 100 million passengers and 5 million metric tonnes of cargo per year. Meanwhile, a new US$ 200 million international terminal with a capacity of 8 to 10 million international passengers per year is being completed at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, which now handles one-half of all passenger traffic in Vietnam, and two thirds of Vietnam’s international arrivals and departures.

Vietnam-U.S. Trade in 2006
Total bilateral trade between Vietnam and the United States reached US$ 9.7 billion in 2006, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce. That’s more than six times the level in 2001, before the Bilateral Trade Agreement went into effect. If present trends continue, the bilateral trade could reach $16 billion by 2010.
