President Triet’s USA Visit Praised
President Nguyen Minh Triet’s historic U.S. visit is being lauded as a triumph, with the red carpet rolled out for American businesses to enter Vietnam. President Triet also witnessed the signing of many commercial agreements between Vietnamese companies and US and international partners.

Sat, Jul 14, Cargill Cares Annual Fundraising Event 2007 Cargill Cares raises funds every year to support education in Vietnam by building schools in the countryside and providing equipment and facilities to support selected universities. Customers, suppliers, partners, and employees have supported this program, which has raised US$ 700,000 over the past years. Click on the link for more information and to register.

More then 25 million people use Facebook to keep up with friends, upload an unlimited number of photos, share links and videos, and learn more about the people they meet. Microsoft is Facebook’s biggest business partner. Last year it contracted to broker banner ads for Facebook, reportedly guaranteeing a minimum of US$ 100 million a year through 2011. President Triet’s USA Visit Praised
President Nguyen Minh Triet’s historic U.S. visit is being lauded as a triumph, with the red carpet rolled out for American businesses to enter Vietnam. President Triet said he had an open and direct exchange of views with President Bush, especially on religion and human rights. “And our approach is that we would increase our dialog in order to have a better understanding of each other. And we are also determined not to let those differences afflict our overall, larger interest,” he said. President Triet also witnessed the signing of many commercial agreements between Vietnamese companies and US and international partners.

New World Bank President Robert Zoellick has his work cut out for him. He will need to regain trust, rebuild credibility and mend frayed relations inside the institution and with its member countries worldwide. He will also need to persuade countries to contribute nearly US$ 30 billion over the next few years to fund a bank program that provides interest-free loans to the world’s poorest countries.

World Bank Approves Four Projects for Vietnam Worth US$ 309 million
The IDA credit packages will finance the Sixth Poverty Reduction Support Operation, the Second Higher Education Project, the Ho Chi Minh City Investment Fund for Urban Development Project, and provide additional funding for the Mekong Transport and Flood Protection Project
