Winnie Wong is responsible for growing Mastercard’s business in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. With her experience in consumer and corporate payments and banking, she brings fresh perspective to the markets on digital payments and solutions.
Prior to her current role, Winnie was the Commercial B2B Sales Head for the region, where she was responsible for driving growth for Mastercard’s Business-to-Business (B2B) solutions across Asia Pacific. This includes working with governments, banks and corporations on trade digitization with the aim of improving efficiency and transparency, especially for cross-border trade.
Winnie is also the 2022 Chair for AmCham Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City. In this capacity, she leads the AmCham Board of Governors comprising key US multinationals across various industries. During this time, Winnie actively worked with AmCham and its members in furthering US-Vietnam relations, including representing AmCham in discussions with Vietnamese government and US Mission with the aim of building and fostering a stable business environment for US business to grow and thrive.
Statement of Interest/Vision
I hereby express my interest in re-election to the Board of Governor of AmCham Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City. In the Board of Governor (BoG) since 2021 and as Chair of 2022, I am well-placed to continue working with AmCham in HCMC and its members in contributing to the growth of US-Vietnam relations. In my role as Chair this year, I have worked with our BoG and Executive Director in building relations with Vietnamese government and US Mission, representing AmCham in many events and roundtable discussions. This year, I actively drive our BoG and taskforce members to make progress towards unity with other chapters.
As the Country Manager for Mastercard, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, I play an active role in building our business here with a long-term view for growth. This is reflected in our investment, people development and technology enablement of Vietnam businesses and its people. Having a stable and mutually beneficial US-Vietnam relations is critical in ensuring continuous growth. And to this end, AmCham Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City plays an important and strategic role in fostering this favorable business environment, representing US businesses from diverse industries.
As the Chair of AmCham Vietnam in HCMC in 2022 and Board of Governor since 2021, I have played an active role in furthering its vision and goals, including representing AmCham in strategic discussions with Vietnam government and US Mission.
If I am elected again to the Board of Governor of AmCham Vietnam in HCMC, I will continue my efforts to develop US-Vietnam relations and work with Board of Governors to drive better alignment with other chapters so US businesses in Vietnam are represented in one voice. I will also work to ensure that our BoG and staff hold to the highest ethical standards and code of conduct as expected of any top U.S. multinational corporation.
