I was born in Kansas City, Kansas. My wife Janette is from Mexico, and our 16-year-old son, Matthew, attends ISHCMC. I have two grown daughters: Sarah lives in Washington DC, and Alexa in New York.
I have spent nearly my entire adult life working internationally as an investment banking executive, mainly with JP Morgan and Banco Santander, living in New York, Antwerp, Brussels, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Miami, Panama, Mexico, and Vietnam. I have particular specializations in international capital markets, trade finance, and Governance issues in the financial sector.
After a thirty-year career in international banking, I moved to Saigon and launched a boutique advisory firm targeting emerging market banks.
An ability to adapt effectively to diverse cultural environments is a defining feature of my career. Like many expatriates, Janette and I are addicted to international travel and to the cultural stimulation it inspires.

Winnie Wong is responsible for growing Mastercard’s business in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. With her experience in consumer and corporate payments and banking, she brings fresh perspective to the markets on digital payments and solutions.
Prior to her current role, Winnie was the Commercial B2B Sales Head for the region, where she was responsible for driving growth for Mastercard’s Business-to-Business (B2B) solutions across Asia Pacific. This includes working with governments, banks and corporations on trade digitization with the aim of improving efficiency and transparency, especially for cross-border trade.
Winnie is also the 2022 Chair for AmCham Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City. In this capacity, she leads the AmCham Board of Governors comprising key US multinationals across various industries. During this time, Winnie actively worked with AmCham and its members in furthering US-Vietnam relations, including representing AmCham in discussions with Vietnamese government and US Mission with the aim of building and fostering a stable business environment for US business to grow and thrive.
Walt Power

Walt Power, the CEO of The Grand Ho Tram, is one of Asia’s most experienced gaming industry executives. Prior to his arrival in Vietnam in February of 2020, Walt worked for 18 years in Macau, and was instrumental in the development, opening and operation of the “Sands”, the first western casino in Macau.
A 30-year gaming industry veteran, he has accumulated extensive international experience through executive leadership positions at resorts in the United States, Argentina, South Africa, and the Philippines, in addition to his work in Vietnam and Macau.
Mr. Power is a former United States Marine Corps Major and aviator. During his time in the cockpit, Walt earned the designations of Helicopter Aircraft Commander, Flight Instructor, and Functional Test Pilot. He also served with the first International Peace Keeping Force in Beirut, Lebanon in August 1982, participating in the initial evacuation of non-combatants from that war torn country.
Walt earned his Bachelor Degree and Master Degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan. Walt holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and was a medalist in his age group at the 2014 and 2019 World Master Championships.

Ace has been a finance professional with Intel Corp for 16 years. Prior to his current role, he has held roles supporting Technology Development, Assembly Test Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain, Strategic Capacity Planning, Fab Sort Manufacturing, the Internet of Things Business Unit, and Sales and Marketing throughout his Intel career.
Prior to joining Intel, Ace was a Mechanical Engineer for Northrop Grumman Corporation and a Consultant with Deloitte.
Ace holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the San Jose State University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Santa Clara University.

RamC is the Citi Country Officer for Citibank in Vietnam. He is on the Board of both Hanoi & Ho Chi Minh City chapters of AmCham.
Earlier, RamC was the Emerging Markets Coverage Head for Citi’s Global Subsidiaries Group (GSG), based in London. In parallel, RamC was the Eastern Europe Head for GSG.
RamC has 28 years of corporate banking experience with Citi across multiple functions. He started in India, set up the Citibank N.A. branch in Pune in 1998 and was later the Branded Consumer Industry Head (India) from 2001-03. He then spent 3 years in Citi Netherlands covering Citi’s Dutch multinational clients. RamC was in Singapore 2006-11 leading coverage of Citi’s multinational clients across Asia Pacific. He was in London from 2011 to 2021.
Through his extensive travel to 37 countries across Asia, Europe, Africa & Latin America, RamC has insights on the latest trends, market developments and best practices. Michael currently leads the law firm, EY Law Vietnam, a fast-growing team of 25 corporate lawyers based in Ho Chi Minh City. EY Law Hanoi should also open by mid-November. EY Law Global has over 3,550 lawyers in 92 offices around the world, and now intends to expand quickly throughout ASEAN. Michael will head this expansion process in Indochina.
Michael has over 20 years’ experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and corporate law. Prior to joining EY, Michael worked as a corporate attorney at Sullivan & Cromwell in New York, London and Los Angeles, as well as Debevoise & Plimpton in New York, focusing on international corporate bankruptcy, securities and M&A work. He is a member of the bar of New York and California and is a licensed foreign lawyer in Vietnam.
Outside of law, Michael worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company in their pharmaceutical practice group and managed his own hedge funds for a decade.

Prior to leading MSD Vietnam, I led enterprise-wide COVID-19 programs including the innovative access for molnupiravir – the first oral antiviral against COVID-19 globally. I also led our global vaccines strategy for more than 25 commercial and pipeline vaccines.
I spent my early career in late state development for vaccines and biologics including process characterization, scale-up, and technology transfer across many of MSD’s lab and plants in North America and Europe. Jahanzeb has close to 30 years of working experience in MNCs. His last 19 years in PepsiCo saw him working extensively in Asia Middle East and Africa, namely Pakistan, South Africa, Nigeria, Iran and Thailand. Prior to joining SPVB, he was based in Bangkok as Vice President, Business Development and Transformation – Asia Pacific. I have been an active member of AmCham since 2006 and has represented AmCham as well as the broader business community at numerous expert working groups, seminars and conferences. In 2013, I was nominated to become the Chair of HR/Labor Committee, and has held Chair, Co-Chair and Board liaison for the Committee ever since. In my capacity as Chair/Co-Chair, I have revived the HR Committee to become one of the most active committees within AmCham in organizing networking and knowledge sharing events for members as well as in advocacy engagement, especially in the areas of labor legislation and HR issues. I have been deeply involved in policy discussions on labor and employment issues arising during the negotiation of the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement, frequently act as an adviser to Government agencies and industry stakeholders on Vietnam employment and labor law.
I was elected to the Board of Governors in 2017, and was a member of the Executive Committee-plus, being in charge of Committees and advocacy. In 2021, I was appointed as AmCham representative at the Advisory Council for Administrative Procedures Reform (ACAPR). I have been an active Governor, and contributed to drive advocacy activities of the Chapter. I serve as the member of the Advocacy Panel and review and approve all position papers on behalf of the Board.
I received my legal, diplomacy and executive business management education in both Vietnam and the U.S. I am one of the few lawyers dually admitted to practice law in New York State and Vietnam, and during my almost 15 – year tenure at Baker McKenzie, I have worked at our firm’s offices in Vietnam, Spain and the UK. This diverse and well-grounded cultural and professional background gives me a unique capability to understand both US and Vietnamese sides as well as to transcend the divide between foreign/international and Vietnamese cultures and business groups. Tram Nguyen

Tram has more than 20 years of international management experience across Europe and Asia, having been in senior leadership positions in technology, telecommunications, and media ecosystem. Tram joins Microsoft from Google APAC where she led the country operations for Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. Prior to that, she was the VP and GM for FOX Networks Group and has led leadership positions at Vietnamobile, VSTV – the first joint-venture between the national broadcaster Vietnam Television VTV and the French Pay TV group Canal Plus, PayPal, and Orange France.

SSA is an international port operator headquartered in Seattle, USA. The company is active in more than 250 locations across five continents. Nam Tran is the Director of Development and Strategic Initiatives, in charge of building Fulbright’s development capacity in Vietnam and leading and executing the several most important and prioritized tasks of Fulbright University Vietnam. He works jointly with the leadership team on major gifts and special strategic projects.
His passion for social impact led him to work on varied projects in education, youth and female employment, innovation, sustainability, tourism, economic development for disadvantaged regions, and more. Coming to Fulbright, he wants Vietnamese young people to have a choice of world-class education in Vietnam. Nam also served as the Co-Chair for Education and training Committee at AmCham to help bridge the gap between higher education and industry.
Before joining Fulbright, Nam worked at Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Nam was with BCG for 6 years and was one of the first members of the Ho Chi Minh City office. Nam worked in both strategy and operations across Southeast Asia and Middle East in multiple industries, including Consumer Goods, Industrial Goods, Telecom, Energy and the Public sector.

She is also one of the leading experts on Vietnamese human trafficking and modern slavery, and has 20 years of experience in international development in areas such as fundraising, advocacy, policy and program development, communications, gender equality, economic empowerment, and ethical supply chains. Mimi has been a member of AmCham since 2007, serves as the Vice-Chair of Advocacy for the Women in Leadership Committee, and is a founding member of the ESG Committee. She has undergraduate degrees in English Literature and French from the University of Michigan, and a MPA in International Policy from New York University. Gregory Harris began his tour as PCO in Ho Chi Minh City in August 2023. PCO Harris will be responsible for commercial operations in southern Vietnam, one of Southeast Asia’s most vibrant commercial areas.
Before undertaking Vietnamese studies, PCO Harris finished his tour as PCO in Beijing China, our largest office which covers a territory with a GDP of $6 trillion dollars. In Beijing, his team helped client close more than a record $50 billion dollars in sales and investment contracts for U.S. entities. He was known for developing staff to numerous promotions and awards, including several Gold Medal Awards, the Commerce Department’s highest honor. He was also intimately involved in helping provide life-saving materials for the American people during the pandemic.
Previously, Mr. Harris was the Senior Commercial Officer and Director of the Commercial Service’s Liaison Office to the Asian Development Bank. In this regional leadership role, he helped U.S. firms bid on ADB projects in forty countries across Asia. He was also a pioneer in recognizing the strategic and commercial importance of the Pacific. Mr. Harris also led commercial operations in southern Taiwan as PCO in Kaohsiung.
Mr. Harris also served as team leader at two of our busiest commercial posts, Shanghai, and Taipei, where he was a global leader in helping clients achieve their export goals. Before entering international operations, he served clients from the US Export Assistance Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Mr. Harris earned a BA from the University of New Mexico and a MA from the Jackson School at the University of Washington. He is professionally qualified in Chinese and Vietnamese. A veteran, Mr. Harris served as a cryptologic linguist for the U.S. Air Force with tours in Japan and Korea. He is married with two children.

Alexander Tatsis is the Economic Section Chief at the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. Previously, he served as Senior Vietnam Desk Officer in the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs at the Department of State in Washington. He has also served in the U.S. Embassies in Kuala Lumpur, Islamabad, Paris, and Khartoum, Sudan. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, he worked in finances in New York.
Alexander is a graduate of Georgetown University. He speaks French and Greek.
