The American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AmCham Vietnam) was re-established informally in HCM City on March 4, 1994 by American business representatives, about one month after U.S. President Clinton’s Memorandum and Announcement that lifted the U.S. embargo on trade with Vietnam on February 3, 1994.
On January 22, 1998, the DECREE OF THE GOVERNMENT Promulgating the Regulations on the Establishment of Foreign Business Associations in Vietnam, Decree No. 08/1998/ND-CP, dated 22 January 1998, was issued.
On September 19, 1998, based on an application submitted by the Board of Governors, AmCham Vietnam was officially recognized by the receipt of a “License for the Establishment of a Foreign Business Association in Vietnam,” No.-02/GP/HHND/HCM from the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, AmCham is located in the New World Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. AmCham Vietnam formed a branch in Hanoi in 2001 and a branch in Da Nang in 2020. The master license for AmCham Vietnam has been extended numerous times, most recently until September 19, 2024. The license for the Da Nang branch, AmCham Vietnam-Da Nang Branch, also has been extended until September 19, 2024, concurrent with the master license. Requests for license renewal of the Hanoi branch were submitted on September 7, 2021 and October 20, 2021. Those requests are still pending. The last renewal received for the AmCham Hanoi Branch was effective until September 19, 2021.
The United States Patent & Trademark Office issued a Certificate of Registration for the AmCham Logo to the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam on October 7, 2008.

In accordance with the requirements in the certificate of registration, a “Combined Declaration of Use and Incontestability” was submitted via the “Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS) on February 20, 2014, and accepted by the PTO. So the registration remained in force for ten (10) years, from Oct 7, 2008 until Oct 7, 2018.
Again in accordance with the requirements in the certificate of registration, a “Combined Declaration of Use and Incontestability” was again submitted via the “Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS) in July 2018, and accepted by the PTO on Aug 1, 2018 (see notice of acceptance below). So the registration will remain in force for another ten (10) years, from Oct 7, 2018 until Oct 7, 2028.

The declaration of use or excusable nonuse filed for the above-identified registration meets the requirements of Section 8 of the
Trademark Act, 15 U.S.C. §1058. The Section 8 declaration is accepted.
NOTICE OF REGISTRATION RENEWAL UNDER SECTION 9
The renewal application filed for the above-identified registration meets the requirements of Section 9 of the Trademark Act, 15 U.S.C. §1059. The registration is renewed.
The registration will remain in force for the class(es) listed below, unless canceled by an order of the Commissioner for Trademarks or a Federal Court, as long as the requirements for maintaining the registration are fulfilled as they become due.
