There is an opportunity to elevate and intensify the engagement between our two countries on trade issues. Recognizing Vietnam’s economic dynamism and commercial and strategic significance, the United States hopes to enhance bilateral trade relations and promote fair and reciprocal trade. At the same time, Vietnam sees an opportunity to benefit from shifts in regional supply chains and attract more American investment to help fuel economic recovery after Covid-19.
AmCham, in partnership with VCCI and the US Chamber of Commerce, is hosting the 2020 US-Vietnam Business Summit tomorrow morning at the Sheraton Hanoi Hotel. The Summit is titled, “Trusted Partners Prospering Together”, and is the centerpiece of activities to celebrate 25 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the United States. The remarkable transformation of the relationship is a testament to those who worked to overcome the past and build a better future for both countries.
A number of current and former officials from both countries will participate in tomorrow’s Summit. In addition, private sector leaders from the United States, Vietnam and across the region will participate along with officials from MIC, MOFA, MOIT, MOST, MPI, MPS, OOG, SBV, and other departments and agencies.

Key discussion topics include:
- Promoting sustainable and predictable investment policies
- Driving growth and innovation through the Digital Economy
- Addressing Vietnam’s energy development needs
- Navigating Asia’s supply chain and manufacturing landscape in a post-Covid world
- Working together to help Vietnamese businesses and entrepreneurs reach their potential
- Global trade dynamics and the US presidential election
- New opportunities to fuel Vietnam’s economic recovery
