Winnie Wong

CHAIR, Country Manager, Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos, Asia Pacific, Mastercard

Winnie Wong is responsible for growing Mastercard’s business in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. With her experience in consumer and corporate payments and banking, she brings a fresh perspective to the markets on digital payments and solutions.

Prior to her current role, Winnie was the Commercial B2B Sales Head for the region, where she was responsible for driving growth for Mastercard’s Business-to-Business (B2B) solutions across Asia Pacific. This includes working with governments, banks and corporations on trade digitization with the aim of improving efficiency and transparency, especially for cross-border trade.

Jahanzeb Qayum Khan

VICE CHAIR, CEO & General Director, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage

Jahanzeb is the CEO & General Director of Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage Company (SPVB).

Jahanzeb has close to 30 years of working experience in MNCs. His last 19 years in PepsiCo saw him working extensively in Asia Middle East and Africa, namely Pakistan, South Africa, Nigeria, Iran and Thailand. Prior to joining SPVB, he was based in Bangkok as Vice President, Business Development and Transformation – Asia Pacific. Before the Transformation role, he was the General Director for Pakistan and Afghanistan, leading both Snacks and Beverage portfolios. From July 2019, Jahanzeb assumed the charge of CEO & General Director of SPVB.

During his leadership, SPVB is keep continues one of the top employers of choice in Vietnam and has recently been awarded 1st place amongst the Top 10 Most Trustworthy beverage companies in Vietnam (Non alcohol sector). As part of SPVB’s Sustainable Development agenda, we believe in being responsible towards the community we operate in. Therefore, alongside providing high-quality products to meet the needs of consumers, SPVB carries out series of activities to support clean water and education. This is living our company Value of “giving back to the society”.

While taking the role as CEO & General Director of SPVB, Jahanzeb is also the Vice Chair of AMCHAM Vietnam, as well as the Vice Chair of PRO Vietnam (Packaging Recycling Organization Vietnam).

Jahanzeb is a graduate in Electrical Engineering with a degree from the University of Maryland, USA. Jahanzeb plays golf, loves hunting and reading books. He also likes spending time with his wife and children and strives to achieve a good work-life balance.

Hang Nguyen

VICE CHAIR, Partner, Baker McKenzie

I have been an active member of AmCham since 2006 and has represented AmCham as well as the broader business community at numerous expert working groups, seminars and conferences. In 2013, I was nominated to become the Chair of HR/Labor Committee, and has held Chair, Co-Chair and Board liaison for the Committee ever since. In my capacity as Chair/Co-Chair, I have revived the HR Committee to become one of the most active committees within AmCham in organizing networking and knowledge sharing events for members as well as in advocacy engagement, especially in the areas of labor legislation and HR issues. I have been deeply involved in policy discussions on labor and employment issues arising during the negotiation of the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement, frequently act as an adviser to Government agencies and industry stakeholders on Vietnam employment and labor law.

I was elected to the Board of Governors in 2017, and was a member of the Executive Committee-plus, being in charge of Committees and advocacy. In 2021, I was appointed as AmCham representative at the Advisory Council for Administrative Procedures Reform (ACAPR). I have been an active Governor, and contributed to drive advocacy activities of the Chapter. I serve as the member of the Advocacy Panel and review and approve all position papers on behalf of the Board.

I received my legal, diplomacy and executive business management education in both Vietnam and the U.S. I am one of the few lawyers dually admitted to practice law in New York State and Vietnam, and during my almost 15 – year tenure at Baker McKenzie, I have worked at our firm’s offices in Vietnam, Spain and the UK. This diverse and well-grounded cultural and professional background gives me a unique capability to understand both US and Vietnamese sides as well as to transcend the divide between foreign/international and Vietnamese cultures and business groups. I believe that I will bring in unique and valuable perspectives and contribution to the ExCom and the Board.

Mark Gillin

SECRETARY, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director, AIM – American Indochina Management

Mark Gillin has been identifying, developing, and investing in business opportunities in Indochina since 1993. He is a founder, Chairman, and Managing Director of America Indochina Management Ltd. (AIM), a diversified Holding Company with operations throughout Vietnam and Cambodia. Since its founding in 1996, AIM has established market leadership in a variety of product categories covering a diverse range of industries, including Construction Materials, Specialty Furniture, Consumer Products, and Industrial Consumables.

Mark is a founder and Chairman of AIM Capital Management Ltd, an investment management company that provides expansion capital and strategic and operational support to small and medium sized companies throughout Indochina. AIM Capital Management has invested in Healthcare, Media, Technology, Furniture, Hospitality, and Consumer Products.

Mark has successfully managed businesses in a number of different markets at various stages of development, specifically locations in: Japan, Hong Kong, Guam, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Prior to coming to Vietnam in 1993, he spent five years with Getz Bros., the oldest and largest US non-commodities trading company. There he worked closely on marketing and distribution issues with leading MNCs including Nestlé, Mobile Chemical, Kimberly-Clark, Abbott Labs, Colgate-Palmolive, Heineken, and others.

Mark has served as a non-executive board member of Navigos, AA Corporation, Japan Vietnam Medical Corporation, and Indochina Assets Limited. During his previous six years of service as a member of Board of Governors (2010-2015), he was Chairman in 2013 and Vice Chairman in 2012 and 2014.

Michael Beckman

TREASURER, Partner, Ernst & Young Law Vietnam Limited (EY Law Vietnam)

Michael currently leads the law firm, EY Law Vietnam, a fast-growing team of 25 corporate lawyers based in Ho Chi Minh City. EY Law Hanoi should also open by mid-November. EY Law Global has over 3,550 lawyers in 92 offices around the world, and now intends to expand quickly throughout ASEAN. Michael will head this expansion process in Indochina.

Michael has over 20 years’ experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and corporate law. Prior to joining EY, Michael worked as a corporate attorney at Sullivan & Cromwell in New York, London and Los Angeles, as well as Debevoise & Plimpton in New York, focusing on international corporate bankruptcy, securities and M&A work. He is a member of the bar of New York and California and is a licensed foreign lawyer in Vietnam.

Outside of law, Michael worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company in their pharmaceutical practice group and managed his own hedge funds for a decade.

Michael graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University, received his M.A. from Princeton University and his J.D. from Yale Law School. He also studied at both Cambridge University in the UK and Georg-August University in Germany.

Dr. Lan Dam

Director, External Affairs, MSD Vietnam

Lan Dam has over 22 years of experience in healthcare industry with passion and dedication on improving the quality of Vietnamese people’s health. She has been involved in many healthcare projects/programs and policy shaping aiming to increase patient access to new innovative treatments in different organizations.

In MSD, she leads Policy, Market Access and Communications department which bringing her opportunities to pursue her commitment and contribution to the healthcare mission in Vietnam, as well as to help the innovative pharmaceutical industry maintains sustainable business and continued investments. She also has a passion on promoting sustainability – “meeting our own needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”.

Lan Dam holds a Medical Doctor degree from Hanoi Medical University, Doctor of Business Administration from American Heritage University of Southern California and Master of Science (Sustainability Leadership) from University of Cambridge, the U.K.

Lan Dam is a new member of Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce, HCM chapter in Vietnam and serves as Board liaison of its Healthcare Committee.

Leonardo Garcia

General Manager, Coca-Cola Vietnam and Cambodia

Leonardo Garcia is the Vietnam and Cambodia General Manager of The Coca-Cola Company, one of the World leadings in Beverages that “ Refresh the World. Make a difference.”

Leonardo is currently responsible for the entire business operations in Vietnam and Cambodia, leading the best-in-class teams to accelerate growth, win in the market, and win-win with the customers.

Leonardo is a seasoned leader with over 25 years of work experience in Brazil, China (Jiangsu, Shanghai, and Zhejiang), Taiwan, Vietnam, and Cambodia, holding various critical roles. Over his career journey, Leonardo has enabled multiple business turnarounds, driven operational excellence, accelerated Brand building, and has built high-impact teams that have delivered market-leading performance.

Leonardo graduated from Universidade de Brasília with a degree in business management in 1999, and in 2003 he earned an MBA in Marketing from Fundação Getúlio Vargas – FGV.

Leonardo married, with two children. He and his family are based in Ho Chi Minh city.

Uyen Ho

Director of Public Affairs, Intel Vietnam and Malaysia

Uyen Ho leads a regional Public Affairs team for Intel Vietnam and Intel Malaysia. She is the first local senior manager sitting on the Site Steering Committee for Intel Vietnam. Her priorities are to ensure licenses to operate for Intel Malaysia and Vietnam sites with public policy advocacy from local to central government levels, support Intel business growth, and drive Intel reputation with communities to promote Intel RISE2030 goals for Corporate Social Responsibility. Uyen has been with Intel since 2006 as one of the pioneers involved in the setup of the $1B Assembly and Test factory of Intel investment in Vietnam. Intel is the largest high-tech US investor and the first mover of this industry into Vietnam. Prior to joining Intel, Uyen worked for Nike Inc Vietnam in its early establishment for over 10 years as the Director of External Relations.

Uyen has a strong passion to support female leadership and female engineering students to promote a diverse and inclusive skill-based talent pool for Intel and Vietnam. Under her leadership, the Public Affairs team has worked with academic partners to launch programs that fill these goals; Higher Engineering Education Alliance (HEEAP), Intel Vietnam Study Abroad program (IVSA), AmCham Women Engineering Scholarship (AWES), and Dariu Foundation Scholarship (awarded over a thousand young students to study in Vietnam, USA and Australia). Uyen has been a key contributor to various prestigious recognitions, including the Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE) by the US Secretary of State and the Intel Achievement Award for her efforts to transform the diverse workforce for Intel Vietnam factory.

Uyen holds a general MBA from the Columbia Southern University (CSU) and a BA in English from the HCMC Teaching University.

Minh Nguyen

Country Manager, Vietnam, Aetna International

Minh Nguyen is an Innovative Executive in Healthcare and Insurance services. Her current job is as Country Manager of Aetna International, a CVS Health company, partnering with Bao Viet General Insurance in Vietnam. She has nearly 20 years’ experience in leadership roles in insurance in emerging markets, fronting partnership, general management responsibilities ensuring operational excellence, merging and acquisitions, distribution management, talent development and driving profitable growth. Her previous employment was at American International Group (AIG) (profit center management),Prudential Insurance (distribution management), APAVE Consulting (enterprises quality certification consulting) and Taylor Nelson Sofres (media research). She graduated with honors at Foreign Trade University, hold a Master of Science, Bournemouth University, United Kingdom and EE, Global Healthcare Leadership at Harvard Medical School.

She has been volunteering at recent committees: APAC Aetna WISE (Women Inspiring Success and Excellence (WISE) with event series to embrace D&I, drive changes and create platforms to support women’s opportunities around the region. Member of Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce, HCM chapter in Vietnam since 2018 up to now, including as its Vice Chair and EXCOM committee in 2019. Co-founder of Women in Leadership Committee and continue to serve as its Board liaison and Co-Chair. Vice Chair for Private Insurance committee of Amcham Healthcare committee. Strategic Planning Advisor for Private Insurance/Payer groups & participate in several projects relating to Quality Healthcare improvement for Vietnam and advising in the promising Health/Med Tech, InsurTech start-ups

She has been most proud of the courage she had for Himalayan mountain trekking, Son Doong largest cave discovery and back packing the Ha Giang’s trail. She also motivates the growth of young females & women leadership during her career by Sponsoring the Youth Talent and Women Engineering Scholarship Fund and giving lectures at local universities, giving coaching programs of leadership skills for mid-entry young women leaders. She also is a wellbeing leader by joining in many virtual and offline marathon races, a core member of Vietnamese women’s golf club and inspire the women community for a healthy lifestyle change.

Soren Schouw Pedersen

Vice President, SSA Marine, Seattle USA

Soren Pedersen is a Danish national and has worked in Asia for more than twenty five years. He is the head of SSA Marine regional activities. SSA is an international port operator headquartered in Seattle, USA. The company is active in more than 250 locations across five continents. SSA’s activities span cruises, bulk, and container handling.

Here in Vietnam, SSA owns and operates two seaport joint ventures employing about 400 staff. Our port facilities in Cai Lan (Ha Long) and Cai Mep (Vung Tau) are equipped with the most modern and technically advanced cargo handling machinery available. Both terminals are deep water facilities capable of accommodating the largest cargo and cruise ships.

Maritime transport is essential to the world’s economy as over 90% of the world’s trade is carried by sea. Ships need effective port facilities to load and off load cargoes. SSA Marine is among the world’s largest privately held port operators.

Walt Power

CEO, The Grand Ho Tram

Walt Power, the CEO of The Grand Ho Tram, is one of Asia’s most experienced gaming industry executives. Prior to his arrival in Vietnam in February of 2020, Walt worked for 18 years in Macau, and was instrumental in the development, opening and operation of the “Sands”, the first western casino in Macau.

A 30-year gaming industry veteran, he has accumulated extensive international experience through executive leadership positions at resorts in the United States, Argentina, South Africa, and the Philippines, in addition to his work in Vietnam and Macau.

Mr. Power is a former United States Marine Corps Major and aviator. During his time in the cockpit, Walt earned the designations of Helicopter Aircraft Commander, Flight Instructor, and Functional Test Pilot. He also served with the first International Peace Keeping Force in Beirut, Lebanon in August 1982, participating in the initial evacuation of non-combatants from that war torn country.

Walt earned his Bachelor Degree and Master Degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan. Walt holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and was a medalist in his age group at the 2014 and 2019 World Master Championships.

Ramachandran A.S. (RamC)

Citi Country Officer, Vietnam, Citibank N.A.

RamC is the Citi Country Officer for Citibank in Vietnam. His appointment is pending regulatory approval.

Before this, RamC was the Emerging Markets Coverage Head for Citi’s Global Subsidiaries Group (GSG), based in London. In parallel, RamC was the Eastern Europe Head for GSG.

RamC has 27 years of corporate banking experience with Citi across multiple functions. He started in India, set up the Citibank N.A. branch in Pune in 1998 and was later the Branded Consumer Industry Head (India) from 2001-03. He then spent 3 years in Citi Netherlands covering Citi’s Dutch multinational clients. RamC was in Singapore 2006-11 leading coverage of Citi’s multinational clients across Asia Pacific. RamC has travelled to 37 countries.

RamC holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the BITS Pilani (India) and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore.

Gregory Testerman

CEO, Testerman Advisory, LLC

I was born in Kansas City, Kansas. My wife Janette is from Mexico, and our 16-year-old son, Matthew, attends ISHCMC. I have two grown daughters: Sarah lives in Washington DC, and Alexa in New York.

I have spent nearly my entire adult life working internationally as an investment banking executive, mainly with JP Morgan and Banco Santander, living in New York, Antwerp, Brussels, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Miami, Panama, Mexico, and Vietnam. I have particular specializations in international capital markets, trade finance, and Governance issues in the financial sector.

In 2014, I resigned from my thirty-year banking career and moved to Saigon, launching an ESG/Sustainability advisory firm targeting emerging market banks.

An ability to adapt effectively to diverse cultural environments is a defining feature of my career. Like many expatriates, Janette and I are addicted to international travel and to the cultural stimulation it inspires.

Stephen Jacques

Principal Commercial Officer, Consulate General Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Stephen Jacques is the Principal Commercial Officer at the United States Consulate Ho Chi Minh City, he started his assignment in November 2020. Prior to his current assignment in Vietnam, Stephen was the Deputy Senior Commercial Officer at the United States Embassy in Singapore from 2015-2019. He served as the Senior Commercial Officer in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 2011-2015 and in Tripoli, Libya from 2010-2011. Stephen has also served as the Deputy Principal Commercial Officer at the United States Consulate General in Shanghai from 2007-2010, a Commercial Officer at the United States Embassy in Tokyo from 2001-2006, and at the United States Department of Commerce’s Export Assistance (USEAC) office in Houston, Texas from 1998-2000.

Stephen has received the Department of Commerce Bronze Medal award. He was also one of the recipients of the Director General’s Award for management during his assignment in Shanghai. He was a recipient of a second Director General’s Award in 2018 as part of the United States-Japan Collaboration team to promote U.S. company participation in Japanese-funded infrastructure projects.

Prior to joining the Commercial Service in 1998, Stephen worked as a Senior International Trade Analyst from 1988-1998, covering unfair (antidumping) trade cases and trade negotiations in the Department of Commerce’s Office of Import Administration in Washington, D.C. He received a B.A. in Economics and French from the University of Arizona and an MBA in International Business Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. Stephen’s hometown is Phoenix, Arizona.

Alex Tatsis

Economic Section Chief, Consulate General Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Alexander Tatsis is the Economic Section Chief at the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. Previously, he served as Senior Vietnam Desk Officer in the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs at the Department of State in Washington. He has also served in the U.S. Embassies in Kuala Lumpur, Islamabad, Paris, and Khartoum, Sudan. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, he worked in finances in New York.

Alexander is a graduate of Georgetown University. He speaks French and Greek.
