- Support Vietnamese government’s critical integrated transportation and logistics infrastructure plans throughout country.
- Mitigate the impact of global supply chain disruption on U.S. and Vietnam trade.
- Facilitate access to ethical/green supply chains in Vietnam.
- Promote greater use of digitalization to support efficiency and e-commerce.

- Seek timely implementation of transportation and logistics infrastructure plans and issuance of relevant regulations.
- Partner with U.S and Vietnamese government, chambers, and other private sector groups to identify solutions to mitigate the impact of global supply chain disruption.
Leadership Team
Co-Chair
Geert van Doorslaer, Senior Consultant, DTK Logistics Geert has more than 33 year of international experience in logistics. He is Senior Consultant at DTK Logistics Solutions, one of the oldest private Vietnamese freight forwarders, with head office in Ho Chi Minh City, branch offices in Hanoi/Haiphong and Danang. The company offers logistics solutions for the domestic Vietnamese market, and is also specialized in air & sea freight movements in & out of Vietnam on a global scale.Geert was born in Belgium and started his logistics career in Antwerp, Belgium in 1984. In 1993 Geert decided to expand his horizon by moving into Alexandria, Egypt, where he continued working in the logistics sector for 4 years. In 1997 Geert emigrated to Dubai, United Arab Emirates where he worked for Barwil/Wilhelm Wilhelmsen, one of the leading shipping companies in the world. In 2002 Geert joined the Barwil team in Vietnam. As of 2003 Geert was running his own logistics company. Since 2015 he’s been part of the DTK Logistics Solutions Company, and has been meanwhile working & residing in Vietnam for the last 16 years.Geert joined AmCham in 2016 and was an active board member of the Logistics and Transportation committee. He became one of the two Vice-Chairmen of the Committee in 2017. Since September 2018, Geert has been appointed to be Co-Chair of the Logistics and Transportation Committee. |
Vice Chair
Astrid Vienney, Regional Head of Product Management Managed by Maersk Astrid is serving as our Committee Vice-Chair. She has been active in AmCham Vietnam in various functions since 2013. Astrid has 15 years’ experience in Supply Chain/Logistics, most of that time in Asia. She is currently Head of product Enablement for Lead Logistics Asia Pacific at Maersk. She started her career in Order Management at Hewlett-Packard and then, moved to the 3PL industry with DHL and Kuehne + Nagel and now Maersk. She has extensive experience in Supply Chain Management: Solution Design, Implementation, Account Management, Operations/ Control Tower (planning, documentation) and Continuous Improvement. Astrid has especially excelled in origin logistics programs and buyers consolidation; delivering savings benefits to large corporations. Astrid is passionate about helping AmCham members’ with logistics solutions to develop the country. She lives in Ho Chi Minh with her husband and two children. |
Strategic Advisor Ky Nguyen, CEO/General Director, Cai Mep International Terminal Ky is CEO of Cai Mep International Terminal, a joint venture of Danish APM Maersk Group and VIMC & Saigon Port. Ky spent 15 years in Senior Management of CMIT which is major deep-water container terminal in Cai Mep serving VN-US trade majorly and is the only termal being able to handle 20,000 TEu container vessel in Vietnam. Ky has served 3 years as independent non-executive Board Director of Port of HaiPhong in the Northern Vietnam. Ky is FTU graduate and has Maastricht MBA degree. Later Ky also graduated APMT Magnum Global Leadership Development program. |

Ngan Nguyen, Head of Government Relation and Corporate Affairs, Cai Mep International Terminal Ngan works for Cai Mep International Terminal (CMIT) for 11 years with exposure in different functions of Planning/operations, Commercial, Government relations and Corporate affairs. CMIT, a joint venture of Danish APM Maersk Group and VIMC & Saigon Port, is a deep-water terminal in Cai Mep – Thi Vai port complex, Ba Ria- Vung Tau province, which serves container mother vessels connecting Vietnam trade directly with major markets at the US, Europe,…CMIT now is the only terminal being able to accommodate container vessels capacity up to 20,000 TEU in Vietnam. |
Board Liaison Vo Nguyen Khanh Nha, Business Development Director, SSA Marine As a Vietnamese national I have witnessed my country’s transformative journey through partnerships with developed economies since 1994. I’m in charge of business development for SSA in Vietnam and serve as a member of the board at two local joint venture ports. SSA Marine is headquartered in Seattle, Washington, USA. We own and operate marine port facilities. About 90 % of global trade is transported by sea making ports critical infrastructure. SSA operates in about 250 locations worldwide and we are the largest US company in this industry. Our marine terminals handle about 30 million containers per year placing SSA center stage vis-à-vis international supply chains connecting global trade and commerce. Prior to my current role, I gathered years of experience in development and policy advocacy, collaborating closely with GTZ and relevant ministries in Hanoi. This background has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of policy formulation and the ability to effect positive change. Additionally, I hold a master’s degree in development planning from the University of Queensland, Australia. |
Board Liaison
Michael Nguyen, Country Director, Boeing Vietnam Michael Vu Nguyen is the Country Director of Boeing Vietnam, appointed to the role in September 2021. Based in Hanoi, Michael is responsible for strengthening Boeing’s presence in Vietnam and supporting the company’s growth opportunities in the country. Prior to Boeing, Michael spent more than 30 years across a myriad of industries, including aviation, healthcare, education and manufacturing. Some highlights of his past experience include Country Representative in Vietnam for Airport Development Corporation & Houston Airport System, and Chief Representative in the U.S. for Vinmec Healthcare System, a part of Vingroup Corporation. Michael has a bachelor’s degree in MIS from Elizabethtown College and a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Management from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He speaks English, Spanish and Vietnamese. |
