Event Description
ESG issues such as workforce development and resilient supply chains, upskilling workers to foster digital growth, and cooperation on responsible extraction of resources are mentioned throughout the White House’s statement on the newly inked Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the United States and Vietnam.
With this exciting milestone in mind, AmCham’s ESG Committee would like to invite AmCham members to an event on Responsible Manufacturing and Supply Chain Transparency with Guest Speaker Bennett Freeman, who has global expertise in advising industry leaders in responsible business and labor issues and was Deputy Assistant Secretary of State under President Clinton.
The event will include a fireside chat with Bennett Freeman, as well as a panel discussion with industry leaders from Vietnam to give practical advice in some pressing issues in cross-border trade between Vietnam and the United States such as traceability in raw materials like cotton, ethical sourcing and supply chain, and understanding some important regulations such as the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act which has implications for the garment, footwear, electronics, and solar panel industries.
The discussion will include time for Q&A and will be followed by a networking coffee/tea break for all participants.
