Country Manager, Pfizer
My name is Darrell Oh and I’m the Pfizer Vietnam Country Manager. I’ve been with Pfizer for over 20 years working across various commercial roles covering general management, corporate/brand strategy, business development and sales and marketing. I spent my first 10 years with Pfizer in Canada and then was based in Hong Kong for 8 years covering both developed and emerging markets across Asia, ultimately overseeing a $450M Internal Medicine business.
As of May 2022, I took over the Pfizer Vietnam business leading an organization with over $100M in revenues and 200 employees. Over the last several years, Pfizer Vietnam has been working closely with the Vietnam government on the management of the Covid pandemic which has enabled the development of strong partnerships across various levels of government. I’m also currently the Vice Chairman of the Pharma Group association representing 23 innovation focused pharmaceutical companies in Vietnam where we have been prioritizing policy reforms to accelerate access to medicines for all Vietnamese people.
Outside of work I enjoy golfing, exercising, traveling and being a full-time fan for my children’s sports teams.
Statement of Interest/Vision
My name is Darrell Oh and I’m the Pfizer Vietnam Country Manager. It would be my honour to continue Pfizer’s involvement with AmCham by joining the national board. Pfizer is the world’s largest pharmaceutical company and has been a valued partner with the Vietnam government during the Covid pandemic which has provided unprecedented access and partnership to senior levels of government as well as strategic partnership with the US Embassy.
With the recent elevation of the US-Vietnam relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, I believe AmCham has an amazing opportunity to lead the dialogue for an innovation focused economy, simplification of processes and regulations that will improve willingness for investments into the country and accelerate access for consumers and patients. The formation of a National Board of AmCham Vietnam will enable a united voice for American enterprises leveraging the commercial and political weight of American investments in Vietnam. Working together with companies across industries we can unite to provide a compelling narrative of how American business can improve economic, social and wellness of millions of Vietnamese for years to come.
You have my commitment that I will invest the required time and effort as a national board member to champion AmCham priorities, representing the interests from across the country. With an aligned AmCham we will chart a path where we can be successful in our short-term priorities without trading off our long-term ambitions for Vietnam.
Thank you for your consideration.
