The 4th Industrial Revolution has brought with it the smart cities trend; a high-tech solution for urban problems. Four major cities in Vietnam were approved to be developed into smart cities and the ambitious plan has intensified interest from both foreign and local investors. Coming together for this AmCham event, Mr Stephen Wyatt – CEO of JLL Vietnam, Mr Gregory Kovacs – Design Director of Benoy and Mr. Yoon Young KIM – Country President of Schneider Electric Vietnam will discuss what Vietnam can do to speed up the transition towards becoming a smarter, more sustainable landscape for the future.

Mr. Stephen Wyatt
Country Head, Jones Lang LaSalle Vietnam

Joining the industry in London in 1996, Stephen has over 20 years’ experience with various international real estate consultancies. He has broad and diverse experience in managing businesses, investment transactions, leasing and development consultancy covering three continents, Europe, Africa and Asia. Stephen worked in London for 11 years from 1996 to 2007 with Cushman & Wakefield and Knight Frank. In 2004, Stephen was promoted to Partner with Knight Frank. In 2007, Stephen moved to manage the Knight Frank business in Botswana, Africa. In June 2010 – August 2013, he was appointed as Managing Director of Knight Frank, Vietnam.

Stephen joined Jones Lang LaSalle Vietnam in September 2013 as the Country Head.

Mr. Gregory Kovacs
Design Director, Benoy

As an internationally exhibited architect-artist with over 15 years’ experience in design, Gregory has brought a fresh perspective to Benoy. His portfolio of work focuses mainly on large-scale mixed-use, heritage and masterplan projects across Asia, bringing his unique, worldwide expertise to all of his projects. In 2018, Gregory was awarded the Perspective ‘40 under 40’ designer award. He is also a past winner of the prestigious RIBA Goldfinger Prize.

Gregory’s portfolio reflects a wide range of innovative design. These include Singapore’s reimagined Holland Village; a low-rise urban village with integrated, usable public realm. Ningbo MLP, China; a mixed-use development prominently located on the riverfront of the city. Lotte Mall, Hanoi, Vietnam; a 360,000m2 mixed-use site with unobstructed views towards the West Lake. Huafa Hub, Wuhan, China; a dynamic site with intricate facade detailing. Prior to joining Benoy, Gregory worked on the Shanghai Bund Finance Center; a 400,000m2 mixed-use development located at the heart of Shanghai and The Fosun Foundation Building which houses contemporary exhibitions and performances with a dynamic moving facade.

Mr. Yoon Young KIM
Country President, Schneider Electric Vietnam, Myanmar, and Cambodia

Yoon Young KIM was born in Korean and raised in Brazil, married, with one daughter.

Yoon Young KIM is a graduate of FGV in Brazil and has a Master of Business Administration from WHU – Wissenschaftliche Hochschule fur Unternehmensfuhung (Otto Beisheim Business School) in Germany.

Yoon Young KIM has more than 20 years’ international experience in Automotive & Lighting, covered several industry segments and in different zone such as South America, Europe, North America, Asia, Africa, Russia, and the Middle-East. Mr. KIM has developed his career through various successful country management assignments, as a marketing strategist to grow business, a people builder, and an excellent implementer of commercial initiatives.

Yoon Young KIM has jointed Schneider Electric in August, 2016 as Country President for Vietnam, Myanmar and Cambodia. His mission is to drive Schneider Electric Vietnam, Myanmar, and Cambodia towards further successes in the expansion of both business and manufacturing capability in these countries.

Yoon Young KIM is based in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam.
