Với nhiều năm kinh nghiệm tư vấn trong lĩnh vực Bảo vệ và Bảo đảm an toàn cho trẻ em, bà Suzanne Murray tin rằng hành động luôn có ý nghĩa hơn lời nói. Bà Suzanne tin rằng bảo đảm và bảo vệ an toàn cho trẻ em là nhiệm vụ cao cả của tất cả chúng ta. Với vai trò tư vấn đào tạo và phát triển chương trình an toàn học đường, bà đã giúp nhiều trường giải quyết các ca khó, vượt quả khủng hoảng và điều hướng quản lý dựa trên nền tảng “Văn hoá Yêu thương.” Xây dựng thành công “Văn hoá Yêu thương” có nghĩa nhà trường luôn ưu tiên quyền lợi của trẻ trong mọi quyết định, và công tác bảo vệ trẻ em xuất phát từ sự quan tâm tận tuỵ của từng nhân viên. In this webinar, presented in English and Vietnamese, Safeguarding Consultant Suzanne Murray focuses on developing a strategic approach to implementing safer recruitment standards and Single Central Record (SCR) compliance in schools.
Routed in a “Culture of Care” and proactive procedures to safeguarding, we will explore the need for a Single Central Record (SCR) and compliance, which meets international standards. We will also consider the importance that staff awareness, competence, and quality training play in supporting the teams in the day-to-day operational aspects of establishing and maintaining a “fit for purpose” SCR in schools, universities, or any educational institution. This webinar is directed to Heads of School, Directors, and HR Managers.
During the presentation, we will explore two key questions:
- Are the adults working in your school, with your children, fit to do so?
- How do you know that the adults working with your children are fit to do so?
The presentation will consider the following:
- Standards and expectations – what is our position of influence?
- The reality of “it could happen here.”
- The steps needed to work towards best practice.
- Challenging approaches of old, i.e., “this is how we have always done things here.”
- Statutory requirements in the international context, using must-haves and nice-to-haves.
- SCR – compliance or keeping children safe?
- The real cost of Safe Recruitment and SCR implementation in schools.
- The needs and benefits of a single (digital) system to manage all areas of Safer Recruitment, SCR, and more.
- Data collection and its purpose – different data needs and challenges of employees and non-employees.
- Reporting practices – what to demonstrate, and to whom.

Safeguarding, Child Protection, Wellbeing and Inclusion Consultant
With extensive experience as a Safeguarding, Child Protection, Wellbeing and Inclusion consultant, Suzanne Murray believes that policy is only effective when evident in practice. Thus, she works to ensure that schools and organizations can adopt a practical strategic approach for consistent understanding and implementation. Actions speak louder than words.
Suzanne believes that we have a moral duty to safeguard and protect all children in our schools and learning environments. She has acted as an advisor supporting training and development and implementing safeguarding curriculum, case, crisis, and allegation management within a “Culture of Care.” Embedding a Culture of Care ensures that safeguarding builds on excellent pastoral care and wellbeing and that schools and organizations prioritize children’s needs.
During her time as Safeguarding Manager – Asia for the Cognita Group, Suzanne developed and implemented a comprehensive safeguarding strategy across all Asia schools and organizations within the group, establishing consistency of practice.
A skilled administrator with extensive leadership and management experience in five schools, Suzanne has led strategic, operational, and cultural change in education. She has conducted school safeguarding reviews in national and international settings and trained audiences at several engagements in her native UK and internationally.
Suzanne Murray has 23 years of teaching experience working in state-sector inner-city schools in the United Kingdom. As a Safeguarding, Child Protection, Wellbeing and Inclusion consultant, Suzanne offers a range of services to support the education, safeguarding, and protection of children in education, sport, extra-curricular, and extended learning environments.
